| | | | | slapped | 01-28-2013 11:56 AM | My Question to you is simple,,,What is your RUSH???,,,,
NEVER, EVER, call Ebay about ANYTHING,,,EVER!!!,,,I cannot stress that enough,,,
The moment you call Ebay about ANY issue what is the very first thing that they do?,,,PULL up your account,,,,and ALL Ebay Employees are trained to look at certain "Indicators" like Trustscore as well as whatever issue you may be calling about,,now they will deal with your issue,,,BUT, if that trustscore is a Little weak, they "Flag" the account and send it over to an "Account Specialist" for a MUCH closer MANUEL review, and what do you think happens to 99% of those manuelly review accounts?,,,The BOOT Thats what
That by the way is EXACTLY what "Seller Vetting" is it means to look into and investigate a Seller to see exactly what His/Her Qualifications May/May Not be, to see if Ebay Criterion for sellers is met by a particular seller.
As for you account limits, as long as the account is clean, your limits will increase AUTOMATICALLY in the Begining of the month,,,
So I ask again,,,What is your Rush,,,,The Dealership will ALWAYS have PLENTY of cars that you can buy |
| Bunneh | 01-28-2013 12:34 PM | Agreed!!!
I would NEVER call Ebay or Paypal for ANYTHING! |
| Ace717 | 01-28-2013 12:45 PM | Man you guys have such solid advice here. I was at 100/$5000 for a few months so I called in for an increase. Keep in mind this is a ssn verified clean account (wife's). Rep was super nice and said I should qualify but I had to talk with vetting before they could do the increase. I didn't know what vetting was so i didn't think much of it. I called back the next day (vetting is only open certain hours, at least that's what the rep said). Next rep was a lady and she didn't seem very nice, then she said she'd transfer me to vetting anyways. Luckily I was on hold for about twenty minutes so I hung up. I'm impatient lol. I guess I got lucky. I called back the next month and they were super nice and increased me to I believe 400 items/$8000. They didn't mention vetting this time. The next month it automatically increased to 1500/$20,000. I will NEVER call again. I didn't realize I was playing with fire.. But, the good news for you is you might be fine as long as you don't call back..

| boost | 01-28-2013 12:54 PM | Seems like kind of the same thing here...we are at 50/5000 right now. CS lady and the trust and safety guy both said need to speak with vetting. Hopefully if I don't call back, they will not raise a fit. I will wait it out and see if they automatically bump me or maybe just wait a couple of months or something. Hopefully I didn't leave a gas trail and the spark ignites it all. |
| Bunneh | 01-28-2013 12:57 PM | I think its time to start creating more accounts, that way it wont impact you as much if you lose an account.
As you shouldn't keep all your eggs in one basket ;) |
| boost | 01-28-2013 01:05 PM | Still learning, but I am all the wiser regarding some things. The only thing I don't like about stealth accounts is I need more bank accounts to run the paypals and withdraw. |
| Ace717 | 01-28-2013 10:06 PM | I read somewhere last night that opening a store will increase your limits. I gave it a shot and waddya know, they doubled. I'm at 3000/$42,000 per month now. Was 1500/$20,000.
I sell auto parts (mostly lighting), about 400 items a month. Just kept maxing out my limits and they've increased steadily. So if anyone reads this and wants to try a quick limit increase just open a store.. |
| Bunneh | 01-28-2013 10:09 PM | Think I will be giving this a try lol...:boink: |

| user3657 | 01-28-2013 11:55 PM | What happens when you cancel the store?....lol |
| Ace717 | 01-29-2013 12:10 AM | My account was registered in '11 but I've only sold on it since July. So I'm about 6 months in. I'm annoyed at something though. I live in the US but somehow managed to make my store a .CA store. Every time I go on to edit it I go to Canada eBay. WTF? I sure didn't mean to do that lol. Anyone know how to switch it to a US store? I googled it with no luck.
Btw guys, this isn't a typical account. It is Paypal ID verified, ssn , etc. credit card on file with eBay. Also at one point faxed paypal docs (proof of address, proof of name change, etc). I work 60+ hours a week at my day job so I can't sit around making new stealth accounts all day long. It's my wife's info. I sell $20-30 car parts at high volume. Nothing risky at all. So I'm not the typical aspkin'er lol. |
| boost | 01-29-2013 12:24 AM | Maybe it is because the ebay Canada thing...from everything I have read, opening a store will not increase your selling limit at all. I too am paypal verified, have SSN attached to it, faxed in ID, proof of address, yadda yadda. Been through the ringer with paypal twice (limited and restored), limited once on ebay...came back from it all. But I don't know that opening a store will actually increase the limits. Maybe it was coincidence that your limit was increased by ebay and you just happened to open a store at that time?
Edit: I just opened up a store in ebay Canada....it did not increase my selling limit. Oh well, worth a shot. |
| solesupremesales | 01-29-2013 02:31 AM | I know this is pretty much random. But , the seller vetting team/Department pretty much has full control in anyone's accounts. They aren't just about "limits" rather then all around.
Customer support is nobody. All they do is waste your time. That's why eBay hired those people at call centers. They use them so that they don't have to deal with all the bull****. They're just backup people who read scripts & are trained to do is "waste people's time".
If your speaking to a decent representative that has been working their for years , they already know the drill. Some reps are from the US. Probably 10 I would say that are in he customer service team. They will automatically transfer you to this department.
This certain department can reinstate , suspend you , etc. If they are in a "good mood they will lift your limits with no questions ask". If they are perhaps rather in a bad mood & you called them wanting to get your limits raised they remove listings , restrict etc.
I find that dealing with a lady from that department on the WEEKENDS are much more easier to deal with as well as a guy named "chu". |
| DoubleA | 01-29-2013 02:40 AM | Don't call eBay for an increase wait for it.

I checked my limit before doing anything. I then tried to open a store but got an error saying I needed to have a credit card on file with eBay before opening a store. I added a credit card then opened the store. Checked limits and they were roughly doubled.
So.. It's one of three things that caused the increase: Random, adding credit card on file or opening the store. Guess ill never know for sure, just figured I'd pass along my experience with it. |

| boost | 02-10-2013 12:43 PM | I caved and called ebay again - after far surpassing my selling limits for the month I figured it couldn't hurt anything.
The seller's vetting department is actually the only department that can increase your limits over $5000. They answer the phone as "customer service" and the guy was actually really helpful.
One call raised my limits from 50/5,000 to 75/40,000. This is on a 4.5 month old TRS and PS account. The call required no verification other than confirming the name and address on the account...no documents.
All in all, calling ebay is not as big of an issue as some make it out to be - give it a try, it can't hurt. |
| untitled | 02-11-2013 06:08 AM | Ive called and had to send them documents (i just took screen shots of other auction sites invoices and paypal payments. the part i didnt like was sending them in ID.
i scanned Military ID (they scan like crap and are verry difficult to read) the lady stated that but said it looks fine.
they increased me to @ 250/10k i would like to attempt the store to get the quick double but i might just let this month go by first
again all thanks for all your input and i hope my input helps too
but i agree calling isnt that bad i just aye sir and yes ma'am them to death |
| boost | 02-11-2013 11:26 AM | We got hit with a restriction toward the beginning of our account creation. We had to fax over ID at that time. Otherwise never had to do it for increasing limits or anything else. |

It would be a waste for a TS to call for an increase on a non legit account and get hit with docs and then lose a good account.
eBay isnt going to keep asking for docs if you already provided them. |
