I don't think there was any over-reacting on the part of imjustme. Since ebay is so crazy and unpredictable, it was logical to assume ebay would screw someone like this.

OP never acts like that.
Why bother with your trite comments?

I dont think this OP has ever over reacted to anything I have ever read.
Always smooth as silk.
If I had this happen I would not be happy either and I dont think anyone else would be either.

You're not kind of guy who lists loads of the same low value items over and over again, are you?

I don't sell low priced items. Most are between $30-$50.
I think this is some new safety trigger by eBay. I had it happen just now on another account with 1200 feedback. Registered since 2009 and didn't sell since December 2011. I listed 20 items yesterday with no limits. Today I logged back into the account and I'm limited to 10 items or $250, though all 20 I listed yesterday are still active.
Looks like they auto-limit accounts that haven't been used for 1 year and then review them manually.

Step forwards from banning then.

I have several 2007 accounts and always listed a few things on them a month to keep them active. Got busy making accounts and skipped a few months on a couple and went from no limits to something like 500/5000 or close. After I listed and sold for a while the limits came back off.
Of course we all know they never do the same thing to any account.
Like I always say ebay just tosses a dart and hope it sticks to something.

Just for clarification, comment was not intended for OP - guess not clearly written so interpretation could have been bad. I know the OP well and he does not.

I think the simple explanation is that an account that is dormant for a year then all of a sudden has a burst of activity exactly fits the description of a hijacked account.
In fact, when I sell a high value item especially overseas that is the first thing I check is note the activity history in the account. If it was dormant a year or more and now the buyer goes on a spree buying rolexes, Armani suits, Nikon cameras, etc. I either refuse the sale or else cover my butt with courier shipping and insurance.
If I know this pattern, ebay for sure knows it.

I think this is a shining example of why it is necessary to list things at least 2-3 times a year on every account, (once you sell your first item) just to keep the "rust" from setting in.

I do prefer to have some 'activity' on accounts.
Better than trusting ebay.
