Default Don't sell anything on eBay for 1 year - back to 10 items selling limit?

This is ridiculous. I have an account with 6000+ feedback on which I didn't sell anything since January 2012. I listed something a few days ago, a low priced non-branded product, and today I checked the account now has a selling limit of 10 items per month or $250, whichever comes first.

Isn't that ridiculous? Seems like if you don't sell anything for 1 year (or possibly less), they impose selling limits again. And ridiculously low ones. The problem is probably their selling limits software, my guess is that it checks every month and since there's 0 sales and 0 feedback for the last 12 months it imposes selling limits.

Wow... that is very shocking.

Was it a different product than you used to sell or something?

6,000 feedback and they do this.

They will never learn how to keep good sellers will they?

Dude they probably seen that post you made about PP yesterday and said oh yeah? Lets limit you!

No the reason for this is probably cause they think your account is hi-jacked or sold and so on.

Give them a call and ask them what's up with that? Say you never had this problem before and you got tons of money invested into stuff and so on. Let us know how the phone call went!

Nah ..I never call eBay for anything, that's my rule. I will just ride it out. I think the limits were imposed on the 28th when selling limits are normally checked. Because I remember I logged into the account on the 26th and there wasn't any limit yet, which was a few days after I listed the item already.

Dude over a year ago I had a limit like everyone else. 100 items or $5000 I think it was to start. I made my ebay store then I reached the limit and I was like WTF!?!?! And it said to call them up or something or I can't remember but anyways I called and they lifted the limit, and my account is unlimited. I posted $5 million worth of stuff. Meaning 1 auction GTC had like 1500 items in it. so it's why it went up so high lol. I never had any problems since then so give them a call!

Stop hiding!

I'm not hiding. I'm just ducking to avoid getting hit. I have more accounts than I can ever use in a lifetime so I'm not too worried.

Ebay knows people have stealth accounts...they know people sell accounts and they get passed around like VD. That's why your account has selling limits once again. No activity for a year and then all of a sudden it's selling again...raises flags.

Didnt ebay just give you ridiculous large limit increase last month? So maybe this is Karma or ying and yang or just ebay being ebay.

If you have nothing to worry about call them. I would put money on the fact they will raise you to at least $500, but most likely 2k

Now I know why I rotate my accounts around.

Thank goodness I would not be very happy to get screwed like this after working so hard to have those limits.

That's ridiculous. Just ride it out though. It took me three months to get from 10 items per month to 200 per month. What I did was list all ten items at the same time and start them at a penny. This way they can go over the money limit. If you go over the money limit, I think they're more likely to raise your limits opposed to if you just meet the limits.

As mentioned, it probably raised some flags, the reason being it matches the pattern of a sold account.

Yea no way would I call them on this account.

Just sell to the limit and I am thinking in time it will rise quickly again.

Maybe they had someone review your account and seen that it's the same stuff you were selling before and lifted it/got rid of the limits!

i have an old real info account with 8,000 feedbacks....i haven't sold anything on there in over a year, recently listed a used cell phone and i checked the dashboard, but no limit....maybe it was just a glitch they had on your account.
