Ask people inside, I had different answers. I personally drop them off if they are small and take big ones in.

Default Drop international packages in a post box?

I never risk it...I always bring them inside and hand them to a person at the counter.

I should add that I lose 1 in 50-75 packages that I drop off out side. They just disappear into a thin air nothing like that with the ones I take inside.

Hardly worth the risk of the item going missing.

At least taking the extra few moments to hand it to a human, gives you a little more protection.

Say your item is an iphone, I would seriously suggest not just dropping that in any box to avoid being in a queue.

I drop them off all the time. I actually have less problems when I drop them in the 24 hour boxes than when I hand them to people at the counter.

Never had any problems with dropping them off in a box at any location i've ever used. I've always used printed labels though. It seems with the hand written customs forms, those items tend to get "lost" more often in my experience.
