Quantity Manager selling limits crackdown
Over four years ago I developed an eBay application called Quantity Manager. Many of you might be aware of it and I'm sure some of you have used it in the past. Apparently there was a glitch with eBay that was known in underground circles like the Aspkin forums. This glitch allowed people to exceed their selling limits. Last Wednesday eBay fixed this loophole. This means all price or quantity revisions to users who are currently above their limits are being blocked by eBay. There wasn't anything particularly special about QM so this should affect all other third party apps as well.
I was not aware of this issue until eBay fixed it last week. It is unclear how long this loophole existed given the limited information from eBay. I don't believe eBay is cracking down on actual subscribers of Quantity Manager (I've seen nothing to indicate this so far) since it is impossible to know who was exploiting an eBay glitch and who innocently triggered one. If anyone here is currently a subscriber and was using it for this purpose you can still use it to keep from going over your limits by keeping a very low quantity available in all your listings (assuming the math still works out). However you won't be able to do this until you get yourself under your limits. If you were aware of this glitch and were considering subscribing to Quantity Manager, it has been fixed.
