Default first issue as new seller: tablet not working

I sold a tablet not too long ago (2 weeks) which was sealed and unopened. Buyer just messages me today saying it does not hold charge and keeps cutting off. I asked was it sealed and brand new when you received it? they confirmed it was. Should i take it to eBay resolution centre? I have sold two of these before and both customers were happy with their product. Please advise on the best possible solution to this problem. Thanks.

Sometimes these things happen, Have the customer send it back...check it yourself, if it does what the customer is complaining about then do a full refund.

Even if it was sealed and does not work the buyer purchased it thinking it would work.

Not your fault if you did not break the seal etc but have them return it, check it yourself.

Ask them if they want another one as replacement or a refund.

Only replace or refund after item is returned to you.

Do your best to keep them happy.

Tell them to send it back and replace or refund.

This is basic business practice. Your post implies the buyer is potentially "at it". There is no need to involve ebay at this stage.

If these tablets are sourced from China then the chances of them being cr@p and not holding charge is fairly high.
