 Baby buggy manufacturers slam the door on eBay
Like rats jumping ship the dominos have begun to fall. Hmmm......how far will this go??
Following the €38million fine imposed on eBay earlier this week by the French courts in the LVMH case, Maclaren, Bugaboo and Mamas & Papas introduced measures to prevent their pushchairs from being sold on eBay.
In a related note Chevrolet and Ford are up in arms over the fact their products can now be found on Ebay. Spokesman Bill Whiner told reporters in Chicago that Chevrolet is not about to sit still for sellers on Ebay violating Chevrolet intellectual property rights. Lawyers for both companies are now VERO members on the website Ebay and will remove all infringing items for sale.
Sellers interviewed after this announcement are like Billy Bob "One Eye" Preston from South Forks, Georgia. Billy Bob said "This is going to be hard on us small time vehicle sellers, we'll probably have to go back to classified ads, curbstoning and the Thrifty Nickle."
