| | | Isurun | 04-20-2013 06:26 PM | eBay is over charging Hi friends,
I noticed that ebay is over charging from one of my accounts since the 16th of april.
I sold few items for $40 and the final value fee. is $4.40. which means 11%.
so guys could you please tell me what to do now ?
do i call ebay and ask or just ignore the 1% ?
Thank you |
If the 1% is going to break your business the call eBay, if not then let it be. It all depends if your willing to call in on a stealth account(if it is). Me personally, I won't go broke on 1%. |
it is probably for listing fees
picture packs, buy it now's etc
next time you list this item make sure you check if you are been charged any additional/upfront fees on the "review your listing" page
it should tell you at the bottom of the page
edit/ final value fee
still worth checking just in case |
| Gamefreak | 04-20-2013 06:47 PM | 1% you are complaining about. Mine is about 15% and thats fine with me. Margin and still good |
| slim jim | 04-20-2013 07:30 PM | With the new store fees, you could pay as little as 4%. I likely long time |
Isurun, check your listing auctions and make sure you dont have too many other options like value packs, etc. ticked off.
I wouldnt call eB and risk being hit with ID verify or other problems |

Thank you | Risk of calling is being asked to supply ID.
Consider avoiding that at all costs.
:typing: |
| Isurun | 04-21-2013 09:54 AM | Thank you my friends for your replies.
My account was verified once as ebay tend to limit srilankan accounts at the begining.
Today I phoned ebay and just told the issue to the rep. he admitted the issue and crendited me $98.
Guess they value sellers than old days..
Thank you |
nice one mate
just be very careful now about how you go about business on this account
don't be fooled, they dont care about you the seller |
| Isurun | 04-21-2013 11:47 AM | Thank you GTB
on this account I dont sell any VeRO items.. all are just chines items.. i have good feedback but I have still get complaints for defactive item received.. for about once per 30 items.
so you guys have any advice for me to go on with this account ? |
| dallasreed | 04-21-2013 12:33 PM | Make your buyers happy, low DSRs will get you kicked off if you are selling low quality items. |

Agreed!
No way would I call unless they ripped me for a ton of money.
I dont call ebay unless the house is on fire.
:typing:
Ever hear your vacuum making a huge sucking sound?
Well, that is what ebay robots are trained to do, suck every bit of info out of you they can so they can turn around and use it against you to sell it off for even more money.
No one thinks of the money ebay and pp make on mailing list etc. |
| slim jim | 04-21-2013 10:12 PM | Exactly, it really depends on what the difference is. I'm not calling over 20, 50 or even 100. Not worth risking my account |

Be careful of letting your suppliers send poor quality items too often.
They will harm your account.

| dallasreed | 04-23-2013 11:40 AM | ADATA is trademarked. Whether or not it is enforced on eB I am not sure. Lot of chinese sellers carrying their products. |
| TurtleCove | 04-24-2013 01:27 AM | I'm confused.
Why would EB give him a credit back?
I mean, he makes it sound like EB's calculator is broken, and they calculated their fees wrong. And, we all know that aren't making a 'mistake' in their fee calculations.
Something doesn't sound right.
The only think I can imagine, is that the EB phone rep pointed out some extra add-ons he was placing on each listing, by mistake. He whined, and pleaded, and the rep gave him a refund.
But, EB didn't "overcharge" by mistake. |
| Isurun | 04-24-2013 12:21 PM | I think you also should also check your fee.. after going through all my accounts I found that listings that made before 16th of april are charged 11% not 10% but all my listings started after 16th of April are charged 10%.
so my conclution is that ebay is playing.. with new fee... |

But, EB didn't "overcharge" by mistake. | Is this serious? If that's the case I'd love to be your vendor. Just send you a bill and you pay. ALWAYS audit all of your bills. Even if its not done on purpose, mistakes are made |
| TurtleCove | 04-25-2013 12:56 AM | Yes, I was very serious.
Do you really think that EB could possibly invoice incorrectly?
They'd have tens of thousands of people on their backs, if they invoiced differently than their published statements....and imagine the law suits they'd be opening themselves up to. Yeah, I'm very serious. Heads would roll, and people would get fired if EB invioced incorrectly. How could you think otherwise?
It's completely different than a plumber giving you an incorrect invoice for installing a water heater. |
| slim jim | 04-25-2013 09:46 AM | So you are saying there is no way they could make a mistake? No way they could have their software programmed to make a mistake? You live in lala land | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 03:53 PM. | |
