Shudder - I remember when I used to be into collecting rookie cards - but then everyone wanted those...they were hot to sell at the time but with the whole influx of cards and economy change, prices have dwindled. I met a killing off of the Pokemon craze mysefl as a side note...good times.

Smart move to me as he would have no doubt been mentioned with Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Clemente etc if he had not been injured so much in his last 10 years of playing.

Still managed 600+ HR, gold gloves etc and did not do steriods like Bonds, Sosa, McGwire and the others.

The Griffey UD one was awesome. But they surely overproduced it.

Was also wondering how this turned - few side forum bets that the transaction went bottoms-up

I actually ended up selling it all for $150, which is what I paid. I believe I could've gotten more but I just wanted it gone.

I did keep several Mint Condition Becket magazines. I also kept around 30 decent cards.

After really thinking it over again, I felt like it'd be more of a hassle than anything else. Yea, if i would have really went through everything and took the time to find some decent cards, I could have made more than $150... But it just seemed like a whole lot of work, didn't seem worth it to me.

Should've made that decision before I bought but oh well, still came out ahead...

I hear that - lot of time to sort out the stuff. Not sure on market value of Mint condition Beckett pricing guides though...

At least you did it.

That counts too in the scheme of business.

Who knows what could turn up in the future which might be much better.

Yep, at least you tried.

I seen some of them going for between $4-$10, decent enough. I've got about 30 of them. I also have some other types of Sports Magazines in mint condition.
