Low margins are due to Chinese sellers. They piratically ruined eBay market for everyone else. 5+ years ago eBayers were willing to pay double the price for the same item that now sells for 1/10 of what it used to worth back then. Nowadays they (eBauyers) want everything for free. In my opinion Chinese sellers should not be allowed to sell on eBay.com. They are undercutting prices and overcrowding market. Not to mention they sell junk.

Well I have decided to part ways with cables. It's a lot of work for small return in profit. Also one a55hole buyer's remorse return can easily eat into many order's profits since the profits are so tiny.

This is a fact that margins have gone down. What I do is find ways to reduce overheads.
I sell small items and I now recycle envelopes from junk mail. I paste the labels over the junk envelopes. Also, cut cereal boxes into pieces for the cardboard protection.

Ages ago I got yards & yards of contact paper. I use it to cover the outside of boxes for some items.
Makes a difference to buyers when they open their parcel to see a neatly wrapped item.

Presentation is so nice - very key point. In late 90s, I had wrapping paper with my own eB id name and some vital info - I used to get tons of referrals and generated business
Unfortunately these days are gone Rsot... eBay used to be awesome place to sell but now it's very competitive due to Chinese sellers who basically ruined a big chunk of the market by undercutting everyone.

Never rely on one single product, always have mutliple streams and sources of products.
You and I discussed this before but there is a 19 year old college boy on you tube who post his buys from yard sales and shows his ebay and amazon sales.
Shocking--- 11,500.00 on ebay and 7,000 on amazon so far this month. Says his profits are 12,000 range. Works listing 3-4 a day and runs ebay Sunday to Sunday and packs only on Mondays.
