Default What is your profit margin ?

Hi, I was looking for product to sell and I can't find anything good at a time, I know that no one will give their products, but maybe you guys could share your profit on products you choose is it %20 profit of the price you bought the product or 50, 100 or more, so could you please share this if it's not too big secret. It would really help me in my researches.

Thanks anyway.

Anything less then 50% usually isn't worth the hassle.

Completely depends on which item, I have sold quite a variety. The highest profit margin I get from an item I sell would probably be around 125%

I had one product that was no lie 700% profit margin, but it was harder than ==== **** to sell. Really not hard to get that high with the right profits. All of the products I sell are 100%+ profit or I don't bother.

25% Clear profit after fees, and all items are 60-500 in value. in the past 50% on some furniture items I was selling, but that market is flooded

Ya, at least double cost or I don't want to be part of it. Ususally I want 200%+
If it costs me $100 I want at least $300...
Guess I'm just greedy as all hell. But my stuff is always low volume too, so its a wash in the end I guess

I wouldn't mind a product that did a solid 50% and high volume. But every time I scan eBay for ideas I see most items are just polluted with low ball sellers. Some of the stuff is so cheap I end up buying some for the hell of it. I got a house full of crap I dont even use.... Probably bought crap off half you guys by now

It really depends on what you're selling and how many. There's no set in stone margin of profit imo. It can be anywhere from 1% to 10000%+, sometimes it goes into the negative and you lose profit. If you have a low percentage though, you'll need to sell in higher quantities to make a good profit.

This is just my guesstimation:
Legit stuff: 10%-100% (good luck finding 100% profit on legit stuff though)
Replica stuff: 50%-900% (not even worth selling unless the profit margins are at least 100%, or the cost of the items are high and you make a significant amount of money for each sale and they are hot items)

My lowest is 60%, highest is 700%.

Dont just look at the high end %. At least for me, that usually means less volume. So it does balance out.

% is not as relevant as the total amount itself.

$1000 profit on 10 items marked up 100% and
$1000 profit on 50 items marked up 30%
is still $1000 profit. Thats the important part.

The fees and expenses sneak up for sure! Can be overlooked when deciding sale price. I do it too often. Can shave 10-12% right off the top. It adds up

My main product is about 600% profit, easy to sell if I spread out over 3-5 accounts (I refuse to use more than 5 accounts at once). They are very small and I can order around 10 per order, comes in a small package and I can make $2500. Of course its a lot slower with paypal holds now. :(

My business partner is a coder and back then when we use to sell many different products he would have a system so that each product sold gets put into the system and the exact profit was calculated after fees and everything was really cool, now we don't use it much since we stopped selling a lot of different products and only stick with a few.
