Default Bounced Eb@y fee payment

I was mistakenly charged a monthly fee by a company to my Paypal acct. I let them know and they refunded my $ a few days later. While this $ was out of my PP acct, eb@y collected my seller fees. Because of this charge, the amount I now had in PP was not enough to cover the fees. They charged my bank acct for the fees which also did not have enough $ in there to cover the fees. Now the payment is pending.

Now that the money was returned and I have made a few more eb@y sales, which are available and NOT pending, I have more than enough to pay my eb@y fees. But being that the payment is in processing already, I can't just hit the link to make a one time instant payment and be done with it.

My question is, will eb@y go back to my PP acct and attempt to withdraw those funds again, or will they attempt to charge my bank acct again first?

Since you have the PP linked for automatic payment to eB...not a great move and your case is an example of why not to do so. Big beautiful thread about this - sticky thread.

eB will go into your pp again for the new fees and pp will allow for fees to go through IF funds are available. If not...then pp will hit your bank again.

In your position, I would save the trouble and pay the fees in advance with a one time payment with VCC/gift card - easy if if payment is being processed

Yeah, I'll definitely take your advice. It's pretty much how I had it set up, but this old web host hit my acct when it wasn't even supposed to and really screwed me up.

So you're saying I should be fine then as long as I have enough available funds in my PP acct now to cover the fees?

PP looks at a lot of repetitive activity - one time errors are unlikely to cause issues (from what I have seen, have experienced, and have had people tell me). You must make steps to avoid this scenario again.

I can never say "You are 100% fine" - only PP knows and can say - time will tell. In your shoes however, I would make moves to avoid

They should take it out of your available funds, however keep youur fingers crossed because if they attempted together funds from your bank they may have now seen your real name and address not sure if that happens when there weren't any funds in your account hopefully not.

And I wouldn't attempt a one time payment now because you may be charged twice in doing so

Yeah, I'm not going to attempt to make a one-time payment. This will be a one-time goof. From now on, I will leave a 'buffer' in the bank acct and make sure I make my ebay payments before they are due (when I get the invoice)
Thanks for all the help, wish me luck.

I usually do a one time payment each month but do it 7 days before the dates that the usually pull the funds so if it says between the 15-17 of each month I do one time payment between 8-10 each month

Normally, that is what I do as well. But I am in the middle of a move and didn't know that I was going to be mistakenly charged by this company. I had plenty of money in PP until they charged me. From now on, I'll take your advice and beat them to the punch.

Thanks.

Excellent move before the dates - I do the same too and keep a log of when payment is due for each stealth account

Just to come back with an update....the a55holes at eb@y charged my bank acct again. They do NOT start the process over again by charging your primary source of finds, PP. (even though there is plenty of available funds there for the taking) So don't make the same mistake I did and follow the advice posted above. Always pay your balance before it is to come out of either PP or your backup funding source. Be proactive and take care of your account and it will take care of you.

There is another argument about not linking fees to paypal.

That gives the ultimate control of not letting them dip into your monies.

Good Luck with future transactions.

And never trust paypal
