As a seller, accepting direct payment WITHOUT the checkout option does not allow for eB seller protection...for example. Also, he might think that what happens if the other PP is a "stolen/compromised" one...if he gets chargeback...no protection

That is not true you are still protected checkout has nothing to do with seller protection. Maybe that is what he believes too

There's ONE really good reason.

He damn well does not WANT a transaction he thinks is a risk.

Yes that is the answer lol. The real answer is 99 percent people dont know ebay and pp rules and think this is violating some ebay policy or somehow expanding their risk and that is 100 percent false

This comes down to opinions.

If that is that seller's opinion then he will go with it.

BTW are you getting anywhere with getting him to change that?

If not, then you know what to do....

Is this person a new seller? Maybe they are just scared that you are about to scam them because they are unsure about how they are or are not protected. The person is probably just ignorant about things or just being an ass. Either way, they prob are not gonna budge.

That is rough to hear - the seller is pretty steadfast indeed

Nothing rough to hear.

Seller was within his rights as he believed them.

Buyer got the strike removed.

Both should have learned lessons.

This is a forum for sellers first and foremost.
