Default Need Help! Accidentally closed a case.

So long story short, I was trying to close a case and I accidentally closed a case for another item that I never received. I paid $1200 for the item and the seller never shipped it; i was only a few days away from ebay closing the case itself and refunding me my money.

Now after hours on the phone with ebay they are telling me there is nothing I can do and I'm out of my $1200, because tough luck.

Has this happened to anyone before? What options do I have? Can I file a credit card dispute?
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

Yes, you can file a dispute with your CC
but do not expect to be able to use ebay again after that.
They will probably close your account or restrict you due to the cases open.

Are you serious?? Don't just assume stuff. I am a seller too (well was on ebay) now am on Amazon.

Now I just buy on eBay. In what way or form or anything would I be ripping off a seller that never shipped me an item? I am scared to show my username on here, but I have almost 800 positive feedback. I buy a lot of stuff every week. And some times the deals are too good to be true, which is when people never ship the stuff.

This is what happened to me. It has happened before and that is where Buyer Protection helps buyers.

Prior to this I bought an auction lot of items from a seller for about $1500.

He asked me if I paid him directly through paypal (i know its not allowed on ebay) that he would do the sale for $1400. I have done this before so I know the risks involved.

He sent me the order cancellation. I went to my cases (only 2 at the time, including this one) and without thinking clicked under close case. It asked me if I was sure and I chose yes "me and the buyer worked it out" . Again I wasn't thinking much, just thinking that it was the one I was trying to cancel.

Guys I am not sure why you would think I am trying to scam the seller here.

I had the case open, and I AM the one who closed it (by mistake). The seller never responded, the tracking shows the item was never shipped. Two more days or so and I could have escalated the case to customer support.

I am the one who clicked "I resolved it with the buyer" by mistake. There is no sort of scamming going on here.

I am just not sure if I should open a credit card dispute, because I do not want my buyer account to be suspended.

I can probably make that $1200 in a month, but at the same time, it is a lot of money for me to just throw away and accept the mistake.

Thats why I am asking for help over here in matters like this. I asked customer support countless times to re-open the case (that I closed by mistake) or just undo my last action and let the case run its course. But you guys know how eBay is. They just don't care.

PS
My seller account is banned on ebay but not my buyer account. I simply sell on Amazon now and still buy on eBay, thats why I do not want it to get closed.

Sorry for the hostility here, but this is a selling forum not buyer. We don't deal with buying situations.

For the Last Six Months or so USPS has been HORRENDOUS, and one of the problems is NOT Properly scanning items,,,Hell they are NO longer required to do Acceptance Scans when packages are dropped off,,,these packages ARE getting delivered, but the tracking information does NOT confirm that Delivery,,,Opening up Ebay Sellers to a Slew of "Item Not Recieved" Cases,,,but you already Knew that didn't you??

Of Course, with what you Pay for the Items that you purchase on Ebay ($0.00) and sell on Amazon,,,your profit margin is astronomical,,that is some business Plan that you have there,,,

Your Damm Right that we ALL know that Ebay don't care,,about SELLERS, that is,,I personally can tell you COUNTLESS Stories of how Ebay opened cases for BUYERS against me when the Purchase was 90, and MORE days old,,when Ebay Policy clearly states that cases CANNOT be opened after 60 Days,,so there is NO WAY that they would refuse you, even if the Seller was John Donahoe's (Ebay CEO) MOTHER,,,,so PLEASE Spare US,,,

I had a buyer once who was serial scam artist. He was in Europe and would buy exclusively from international sellers and make sure that items don't get shipped with tracking ("I was to save on shipping, please send it as letter").

He would then file a non-receipt claim.... and LEAVE a NEGATIVE FEEDBACK!! His profile feedback history towards sellers was all negative!! That is how I figured he was a crook.

This was during the crazy DSR non-sense where low DSR could get you the boot. I got so pissed that:
* based on his eBay email, I figured out where he worked (he used is work email)
* I started emailing every person I could find at his work explaining that the employee was running a scam against my business
* I sent the same email to the mayor of his town
* I told him I was contacting the authorities and his scam was discovered

He replied:
* begged me to not report him to authorities
* magically just 'received' the item that day
* he changed the feedback

Crooked buyers are out there.
