Buyer won't cancel sale & can't get fees refunded

A buyer has refused to pay and refused the cancel sale request. That is so messed up that EB charges fees before the seller even gets paid. It looks like I am out $13 because of some dumb SOB.

I also have strong suspicion this was a competitor running up the auction way above market value and not paying. Seems to happen lately. I say that because of low FB and new EB acct. on the perp. Also looks like buys the same item over and over just like mine or same brand.

I opened unpaid item case and then tried to cancel the sale. EB has closed both request. With no satisfaction for me.

I won't call because it's not worth $13 to loose account. But I still pissed off. I have tried in the past to contact ebay by email but don't know how, can't find how to do it on WS.

What to do?

After a certain period of time you can close the case and get fees credited back.

Unless you are talking with buyer, always better to open unpaid item case after 4/5 days as apose to cancel item request.

Block the buyer to stop him/her doing it again

If its a buy it now item, add the requirement to pay straight away. This will prevent this happening in the future.

Rats, rats and more rats.

Reset your payment requirements. Immediate payment etc. Issue unpaid strike after 5 days.
Block the buyer at once too.

I don't know if happened to anyone else but can open unpaid case in like 48 hours. I have done it 2X recently.

The stated event was auction/BIN and I always have the immediate pay on when they BIN. I also have written in my listing that winner must pay item immediately. So unless I just do BIN I will have to deal with it.

What I wanted to know is other than calling eb I guess I'm out the $.

Is the buyer worth one last try?

Is calling ebay when you are agitated worth it?

Options to consider.

:peace:

Do not call ebay. It will draw attention to your account.

We all take losses on some items.

This did not have to happen but sometimes I will lose 25-30 on an item a professional buyer gets and want to return on one of my accounts I dont have a return address to so I have them keep it and not return it.

Part of doing business.

Dealing with these buyers is a pita for sure but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and move on.

This has happened to me before and actually lead to me recalling a package moments before it was to be delivered.
I thought it was a glitch in their ebay system but I am starting to think that now the buyers must call in with some BS story to 'force' the case open.

In any case, I would not call them about the $13.
I know its the whole principle of the situation. But just block this jerk, relist and move on.
