Activity: 0% Longevity: 68% | | My 2nd and last global shipment program sucks
I am not sure why people from other countries think it's ok to win an auction they bid on for 7 days and then start a ? and answer dialogue. LIke how long to Germany what's this and what's that before I pay.
That's not how it works. Not to mention I don't care for ebay saying I can't send an invoice to a global shipping buyer. Why? That's ridiculous. I forgot so is eb.
I'm done, the 1st AU buyer said the item was mfg. defective (it wasn't, I check each item b4 ship) and sent me some pic that did not show anything and then negotiates a 30% discount. I would not have had possession of my item for a month if I did that and they know it. They lurk, buy at lo price and then want to negotiate better price. It's not that kind of party. I'm done after 2 sales I think.
Ther are probably even bigger objections I am not even aware of.

Agreed. Too many horror stories w/ this Global Shipping Program for me. Less hassle + less stress = happier me. http://www.aspkin.com/forums/shippin...g-program.html
I stayed for away from it and never opted in based on many other's take on it.

Thanks, I agree especially when I can have up to $50 cost for my item. Can anyone offer some advice as to how to get out of this German sale before he pays me over 24 hours and still asking questions. I know what I would like to tell him but won't.

Rough to hear OP - perhaps negotiate a reason for avoiding the sale and cancel this transaction. Could be problems later on down the road e.g. "I didnt receive the item! Why is this XXXX wrong with it? I want my money! Blah blah"
(Apologies joesshooze - I did read the post but badly worded - did not mean for refund - you're right)

rsot now you prove what I suspected. Please re read what I wrote. It says he hasn't paid me yet. "HASN'T" being the operative word here.
I am still worried about negative feedback. I know how to get out of it for sure. Here on Aspkin if I am open minded I learn more than I know and that's why I am here.

He COULD be feeling buyer's remorse and trying to find his own way to justify NOT paying...

The 1st thing he did after end of auction was to ask the model number when these are sold by trade name. So I told him he could maybe be best served buying from Neiman Marcus .com for 3x the price. and I offered him to cancel the sale with no response. This was a rapid dialog so he disappeared from it. If I can control my greed I will just say I scratched them when I took out of packing to get the model number. And that has happened but not 2x in my life.

Selling globally used to be lucrative but not anymore. Thses types of buyers see usa sellers as a whopping post and beat away at us.
I stopped years ago and give it a try last year and ran into idiots who did the professional buyers thing of "hey this item is blue and not navy blue and I want to return it" crap. Knwoing the cost is high to ship a five pound box back and expect me to pay for it.
No more for me. Like mm I get enough sales from the usa and canada and don't need global sales.

I did it once earlier this year, had a great transaction but vowed never to do it again.
The risk of fraud is too great.
I keep getting a buyer that 'insists' that its soooooo easy to ship to his country and he can 'walk me through it' but changes his ebay ID once a month...
Its a waste of time for me.
The only way I ship internationally now is if they come to meet me for a pick up with cash. | |

Ther are probably even bigger objections I am not even aware of. | When you first mentioned this program I told you straight to avoid it.
It was not to deprive you of sales but to help you protect your account.
The program suxs.
Until you have a strong flourishing account, your sales are better to be USA only. Even avoid Canada.
I am so sorry this happened. It is something to be expected, however.

Agree with GB - dont give him ideas of paying and doing a SNAD on you - end the communication with this guy and avoid the sale.

Activity: 0% Longevity: 68% | | Update to my 1st global sale
Now I really know I hate the global shipping prog. The 1st buyer I had was German also and has opened a case because he says the retail box my item comes in was a little worse for wear after receiving. The actual item is protected like Fort Knox inside but this happens and I offer double box for a price which he opted out for. This is the killer when I go to answer the case when I click respond it take me to German website which I had to log into all in German with no translation and I looked plenty because I didn't believe this was happening. How does eb expect me to respond to anything in German? He didn't buy it in German. I don't want to even think if it was in Chinese or Cyrilic (Russian). The buyer answered me in Great English everytime so I contacted him and just issued the refund through my U.S. PP acct. This makes no sense to me what so ever.

I agree with Sandy almost 100%. I use to ship overseas all the time and had a few problems but the profitability outweighed the risk. Now I refuse to ship outside the for the most part. Select items I will ship to Canada and about 6 European Countries I have never had a problem with. Other than that it just got to be too many headaches.
Not mention the Yankee Dollar has sunk so much against the other currencies its a double whammy when you get hit with one of these buyers. You get dinged with the high shipping cost you had to eat and then whatever the product is.

I did the overseas on my original account and was just a huge target for scammers an didnt realize till a month latter when cases rolled in.
Now I stick to only the 48 continuous states and that's it, plenty of sales and tracking says delivered 2-3 days after shipping no more of those headaches
It's a shame for new sellers on ebay , it seems great to wake up to $1000 in sales , with ebay even pushing it u think its safe until all the scams come in
