MC008 Notice: eBay Account Limited - Verify Identity (GUTTED)

Hi all.

So I got back on eBay last month, very happy in doing so and a listing went through and sold an item for £700 so very happy there. Account was doing very well until I realised I had used up my allowance for one month and needed to sell other items to stay afloat (bills to pay).

Heres my problem -
1. My new account has just been limited until I can send in additional information, and unfortunately, I just don't have that kind of information. Can I save it?
They want a drivers licence/passport or a utility bill of some kind. I am a whizz at photoshop however. Dont know if thats an option? Anyone?

2. I shall be using a mac with my next account. Is there anything different regarding separate user accounts on there? I cant remember reading anything about macs.

3. I shall be accessing my account from home, of which the mac connects via the family BT router. Unfortunately my little brother and his friend also have blocked eBay accounts that they can still buy things on that they use via their iphone app connected to this router. Will this flag anything?
I will need 2 accounts to sell to the limits every month. So I need a way of accessing both without getting linked.

Please help. I tried to do it myself and I have failed miserably. :(

1. There are ways around this... Some members on this forum offer the service for a nominal fee to lift the final limit.

2. Sorry I'm not a Mac man but I'm sure there are members on this forum that can comment on this one.

3. Yes there's a high possibility of getting linked via IP and the ebay app is just a no no really as its just a minefield. Your best and easiest bet is to get yourself a dongle (either usb or a mi-fi device) as this can provide the ip range you need and keep to unlinked from your other account as long as you only use this dongle for the new account. You can create more than one account and use the dongle since it should reset each time but make sure you start a log in that case so you dont get the same ip if it comes around. There are plenty of other posts about this so feel free to do a search.

Excellent thanks! Ah never really thought of a dongle. So I should only use that user account with the dongle to access ebay, and for the rest of the time. Go back to my other user account on the Mac and can access via router?
Sounds pretty awesome?

What if I have multiple accounts then, take the dongle out and plug back in every time I access a diffeerent ebay account? is that best?

Yes you reset the dongle each time for the different eB account - keep track of the ip with IPBurger to avoid repetitive use across accounts.
