changing ip question
 

I have successfully changed my ip, but theres something that is confusing me.

If someone was to have multiple accounts on multiple users, do you need to change your ip every time? :confused:

I want to create a second account tonight (with an old paypal account, but only have a few items to sell so i can accept it getting re banned) but i dont want to mess things up on my current account.

Yes. You need to change IPs whenever you switch between accounts. You don't want to mix in IPs between them.

Think about it...why would 2 (supposedly) separate accounts...with separate information....have the exact same IP?

You need to always have different IP's between accounts, and always track the IP address.

i thought so...

If i change my ip to create a new account, how would i then go back to the one i have now to log onto my current account?

It does not need to be the same IP address, just not one linked to another eBay accounts.

What is it you are using for internet access? It is sometimes possible to regain and old IP though the MAC address

If you use back the same MAC address as a previous IP, it is possible your ISP will reassign you that same IP.

However, that is subject to a couple of things...

1. if your IP is still available from your ISP
2. if you haven't gone past your ISP's lease time.

After a lease time has expired, then the ISP will then take that IP and place it back into their pool for other customers to use.
