I hope ebay changes their policy

Due to weather conditions these past couple of weeks, USPS Priority Mail 2-Day turned into something like 2-3 week mail. The buyer opened a case saying that he didn't receive the item and even though there was tracking info that says that the item was delivered, eBay automatically ruled in favor of the buyer because of a selling restriction put on my account.

The buyer just got a free item and his money back. I still have to pay eBay final value fees, the price of the item, and I am down an item.

Whatever policies they change, it will not be in favor of the seller. You got caught up in a case of a couple bad circumstances at the same time. eBay will always be pro-buyer. Sellers like us are a dime a dozen. If they do not make money off you selling, then they will make it off your competitor who just sold the item you could have sold.

Yea, this is very frustrating. Best thing you can do is report the buyer. If they pull this scam multiple times they will be booted from eBay. No saying they won't get back on but it is a small victory.

Ebay knows better. They even had an announcement on their website about the weather and shipping times.

I would not give up that easy if you really have proof the item was delivered....I think I could win that battle...I'm wondering if there's not more to that story?

I dealt with this similar issue, This was before I starting using stealth (reason I started actually) I had the account for 10 years 99.9 percent positive feedback and they permanently banned my account because to many "cases" were opened against me (100% of the cases were resolved zero cases were escalated to eBay and I received positive feedback from all cases but never the less they banned me anyways, guess my customer support was above their standards)

I had recently sold about 10 items that were already shipped before the ban set in, the buyers of course were warned about my suspension in case items did not get received. Well all items were delivered and 6 out of the 10 filed a case after getting the products stating they never received the item. eBay refunded every case instantly, I called and the customer rep as usual was a complete asshole and told me straight up that if you are suspended and someone opens a case that they do not even care/review it they refund the buyer their money and that is it.

Even though the shipping date clearly showed it was mailed out before the suspension date. I fought with them tooth and nail, was just a waste of time though.

At the end of the day eBay will always burn the seller when it comes to a situation like this.

There was some natural disaster somewhere in the US last year and eb had a pop up about shipping delays were to be expected. Once in a great while we get a break.
