Default Scammer alert!!!

Got this email today and found it abit strange as I've not tried buying anything with this account, clicked the link to see what it was and it brought me to the eBay sign in page, but usually i just type in my password as the browser saves my ebay ID but it wanted both, anyway I i didn't type in any details and just put 2+2 together i presumed it was some sort of scam,

Here is email with some of the link missing.

Hi,

I give you negative feedback if you don't complete the payment today!! Please check my feedback and see I have 1596 positive feedback. You can check it by yourself (link deleted as no place here). So let me know what's you last decision!!

Regards!

Anyway my suspicions we're that this person has got my email address from my business ebay account as it shows my details, they have somehow created a link to bring you to a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ebay page, you then try to type your email address and password, it does not work but gives them your details, they they use them to log in to your paypal account, add a bank account of there own, withdraw your hard earnt money. something along them lines.

I emailed them back to try and scare them and said that I've got family in the police force and there very good at tracking people down through IP addresses and I've passed all info onto them so you might get a knock at the door soon,

Obviously got no reply,

Anyway few hours later i check email again and there is a message from gmail in a big red box saying this.

BE CAREFUL WITH THIS MESSAGE!! Similar messages have been used to steal peoples personal information. Unless you trust the sender, don't click on any links or reply with personal information.

I'm guessing I was right about them and they've now been figured out,

Beware everyone there's people out there after our personal info.

Thanks for the FYI but I have made it a point to NEVER click on a link to get to any type of account. Especially if financial which eb is to me. This was IT training over a decade ago.

Funny thing is that the seller threatened to leave the buyer negative feedback. That would be a freakin blessing to be able to do!

I've had these types of emails, so hilarious how they try to sucker people into logging into their accounts on their ⊗⊗⊗⊗ sites.

Yeah but ya gotta believe there have been a few poor, unwary souls that have been taken by this sort of scam. Getting even 1 victom probably makes it worth their while.

Always check your eBay to see if you have that same message in your inbox.
Also, check the email address of the sender as it's not the original one, a lot of pp phishing scams are operating. Can't believe people are still getting fooled by these cheesy tricks.

Real ebay and PayPal emails say your name or username in the greeting.
