Exclamation eBay buyer problem

Hi All,

I made a listing in which i told my buyers that they would receive random items from the listing as the item comes in different colours, i said that requests were welcome but i do not have all of the colours available in the product line.

They asked for all of the colours i do not have which is typical :-)

I messaged them and listed all of the colours i do have and the buyer replied asking for a full refund

I really dont think, (given the listing tells them that they will get random colours and i was just being nice letting them pick which colours they have), that i should refund this buyer.

Do you guys think that eBay are likely to find in my favour if the buyer decides to raise a case or give a negative rating?

Any Thoughts or comments are welcome

Thanks

Give them a refund....it's not worth the hassle...and you are almost guaranteeing yourself a negative....this one, for me, is a no brainer.

Refund them.

Why?

You defined their expectations by suggesting they had a choice.

None existed so their little hearts are broken.

Re-do the listing and dont offer what you can not deliver.

Keep the seller in power

Good Luck

Sorry but how and why would you make a listing where you can't specifically say what color is available.... Personally I would not buy from such listing....Random Item???

I did list the colours but put the phrase "requests welcome" in the listing

Then don't invite what you turned out not to be able to deliver.

Call it Murphy's Law, Sod's Law. There will always be a buyer unhappy at the options.

There is no telling what type of idiot buyer you will encounter. When you give options like the one you gave, the requests become more like demands and you are setting yourself up for a problem. They expect you to pull a rabbit out of your arse like it was a box Trix cereal. When you give options like you gave, you are setting yourself up for a problem. You gotta lay it out like you are dealing with a 2 yr old: you can have this or that. Seriously, think of all the people in the world with a computer and all the people with IQs lower than 60 using them.

eB will side more with the buyers OP - re-tool your listing and provided specific colours.

A big key in playing the eb/pp game is to keep full control of your listings and buyers.

Every detail should be hammered out to *help* avoid moronic buyers.

I list my items with limited exposure for any type of problems that I can forsee. I would never give choices for something I don't have. It opens the door for a myriad of problems.

Why dam buyers when you are making money from buyers. I dont dam them one day, I thank them. I am able to be self employed from home and make money in the process. I personally know lots of people who would love this gig but dont try it cuz of fear.

Their loss, my gain.
