Default Powerseller Status? What is Preventing you from getting it?

Here is my DSR rating and Gold PowerSeller requirements. You can see that buyers left Shipping and Handling ratings below ebay standards. 4.4 out of 5 stars is still good and I think I deserve to become a Gold powerseller. Everyting else has meet the requirements. This is why ebay should remove or adjust their star ratings to be more realistic. Ebay should give power seller status with anyone above 4 stars.
Please post your Ratings if you are in the same boat I am.

Did you ever think maybe you could increase your item price a little and decrease your shipping cost a little?
I did that on 1 of my accounts and my shipping charges DSR went up.

Or increase you item prices a little more and offer free shipping. Then you'd be at the top of searches which means increased sales, as well.

Shipping DSRs are keeping many sellers down and/or getting them suspended.

It is mostly my small items that ships via USPS First Class Mail that I get these ratings.
I charge $1.99 for shipping and handling. My Actual Shipping cost is $1.35 and the handling is $0.64. The buyers don't understand that the "Handling" part consist of packaging(Bubble Envelope),Ink Toner, Paper and gas to the post office.

I have already adjusted my cost to give free shipping to buyers if they buy 2 items from me. Hopefully this will increase my DSR but it will be awhile before it goes up because it is a 12 month average. <---Very Stupid.

The reasons for this thread is to see if anyone else falls short of becoming a Power Seller because of the DSR.

Buyers don't care about "handling" charges.
They see the cost of shipping on the package and assume you ripped them off. If you try to explain it to them, they're likely to be offended (the idiots!).

Sorry, didn't mean to intrude onto your thread. Exit, stage left.

I missed the 20% discount last month by .01 on my DSR.
So yes I understand the BS that eBay throws.

It really torks me off because then ebay gets to compute their final value fees on a higher final price (if you incorporate the shipping into the cost of the item and give "free shipping")
Now, with that being said, I think sellers who offer free shipping on an item should AUTOMATICALLY get a 5 from ANY buyer giving their DSRs. I mean seriously, WTF?! The option should ONLY be for them to give a 5. It really pisses me off that they are even allowed to rate their opinion on a shipping charge they didn't even freaking pay.
By the same token, in SOME defense of the buyers, and certainly the newer buyers, if ebay is telling them that 4 is "good" then I think most of them think they are giving you a good rating by giving you a 4 and very very few buyers are likely to given anyone a 5 because they figure no one is "perfect".
Here is what will REALLY help your DSRs. Make up a little card that you put into each of your shipments basically explaining how anything less than a 5 star DSR rating in any category hurts your standing and keeps you from getting certain status ratings and discounts on fees and that can even get your account suspended below I think it is soon to be 4.4. When I started doing that my DSR's did a dramatic jump. I'm at all 4.9's with one 4.8 sometimes. There is actually someone on ebay who sells those little cards but I just basically copied their idea for my own auctions. Give it a try, can't hurt and might help.

I've got a number of accounts giving free shipping and most buyers are not giving them 5 DSRs on shipping charges, but usually a 4 at best.

There was a person at eBay live who complained how despite always giving free shipping and shipping in 24 hours, she gets a 4.5 on shipping charges.

That is the point I was trying to make.....ebay is wrong to even allow buyers the option to leave anything BUT 5 stars on the Shipping Charges part of the DSR rating if the seller has freaking given them FREE shipping. I suppose that they should have the right to give some seller a 4 for shipping charges if getting their shipping free somehow made them feel bad.... what ever.

My S&H DSR just went up to 4.5 Now I am fully qualified to become a powerseller.
Let's see how long it will take ebay to send me a invite for the powerseller status.

Update... I just received an invite to become a Gold Power Seller. It took awhile but I have it now. And then the Same day I got a negative Feedback from a stupid Buyer that never contacted me with the problem for an item that was only $5.99 and I would be more than happy to send out a replacement for free if they contacted me first. I'm pretty sure they gave me a 1 star rating across the board... That'll bring me back minus 0.1 star point and possibly lose my power seller status. Just stupid buyers I tell ya. Just stupid.

Get the buyer suspended and the feedback will be removed.
