| lightmaria | 05-13-2014 09:53 PM | Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? If you have a low DSR does that mean your listing will be on a further page (lower ranking)? My feedback is good because it reset after 12 months but my DSR is low still even though my feedback is 100%
This one guy copied my listing almost entirely and he has a new account but his listing is ranked higher than mine. He's on page 1 I'm on like page 3.
Any insight on this topic would be helpful thank you |
vogeltron | 05-15-2014 03:05 AM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? DSR's are one aspect. Sales volume. Sometimes length of time on the website.
For example if you have perfect DSRs all 5.0's but only 300 feedback and other sellers in the same searches have lower DSRs but 10,000 Feedback. You will be listed lower.
Sometimes eBay also bumps items with free shipping, one day shipping policy. Number of cases opened against you can also affect it.
It is a big algorithm they run. Sometimes wired things happen like new accounts getting placed higher. You just never know. |

Literally a few years back people use to copy my pictures, my listings, etc. It got quite annoying. Especially the pictures. I still see it from time to time. I usually check to see if they purchased the item from me and want to liquidate it for whatever reason.
Other than that if it is that blatant. And I hate advocating reporting sellers. But if you are going to steal other peoples time and energy to free load. You really should report them. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. Many of us were guilty of something like this at one point in time. |
Bunneh | 05-15-2014 06:15 AM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? You need to look at why you are getting low stars.. and start doing something about it.. or when august time comes your defect % is going to look poorly.. and could have a worse impact on you. |

It's all about them taking your pictures, auction style and using all your hard work. I remember back in the day people would say their auction is copyrights or whatever.
Don't worry about reporting them but I'm sure they would do it to you since they are so shady already for taking everything from you. ;) |
Dmshark25 | 05-15-2014 05:01 PM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? You need to worry about getting your DSRs up, it is a very important factor in determining what spot you are in, I wouldn't worry so much about reporting others, especially if they have bey
Tater feedback, higher DSRs and more Sales, you will end up shinning more light on your own account
Work on getting your account in order |

Work on getting your account in order | SEO for eb doesn't work no more then? So sad it is all up to DSR's. |
daveedo | 05-16-2014 01:45 AM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? Yes dsrs are important and one way to boost your ranking is if you sell an item quite a lot, list like 5 and when your down to 2 for example revise it back to 5, this way it will show that you sold a lot of that item and it will rank you much higher instead of relisting |
Dmshark25 | 05-16-2014 03:11 AM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? If an account gets hit with a couple low DSRs the best way to go is auctions, because if you list BIN you will notice that they will put u way back |

Should I use a smaller number like you said? Or was that just an example?
I remember that ranking for BIN worked like this. Lets say you and someone else selling the same item. He gets 1,000 clicks and 100 sold. And you get 1,000 clicks and 90 sold. His will be ranked higher due to the click/sold rate. |

Change their minds and not pay up. etc. |
Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? Best to experiment with listings and try and vary title-text as well |

Then I stopped doing the trick and it dropped. |
vwrestmania | 05-16-2014 08:07 AM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? I got like 2 DSRs a few months ago and all my listings got shafted the last page. I was able to get the DSRs removed and the enxt evaulations my listings were back to the first page |

I've noticed even if you sell items to get fast feedback and are hot selling items with no profits at times you'll get a low DSR's rating from someone at times. So I figured plan B out. But it really sucks for new sellers. Because 1 DSR and you are like almost done and no way of getting up from it unless it's removed! If you are a seller with at least 100's of sales per month then yeah you can get 1 or so. |
daveedo | 05-16-2014 11:57 AM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? That's why I'm trying to move onto other platforms even though I still sell on eBay I try to do us elsewhere, the platform I sell on has no selling limits, low final value fees, No insertion fees, and pretty good traffic, I think it's going to be ebays competition soon cause eBay is screwing everyone over. |
lightmaria | 05-16-2014 12:29 PM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? Holy crap yea there's some great listing advice. thanks guys !
And yeah, I was slacking on this account that's why my DSR is crap but I'm doing much better now slowly building my DSR up and will implement some of the tricks you guys use thanks |
daveedo | 05-16-2014 01:09 PM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? Careful not to go above 1% in item as described category because they will not give you a chance and will suspend you indefinitely, other categories will allow you to fix the issue but if you go below standard in item as described, then you're screwed. |

pokerpro | 05-16-2014 01:54 PM | Re: Does your DSR affect where your ebay listing is ranked? I think what he means is, don't have more than the 1% cases opened for the reason "item not as described". It happened to me, and they kicked off an account over 10 years old and 2500+ feedback.... |
