Default ebay case HOW TO HANDLE THIS SCAMMER

so I sold a cheap item 30-40 bucks range.

buyer PAID too much for the item I sold.

newer ebayer buys it (10 feedback)

then a WEEK after getting a somewhat fragile item claims it is broken and immediately opens a case.

I ask him to send me pictures of the broken item and claims he can not.

He then offers FOR ME TO Pay for return shipping for the supposed returned shattered contents.

He is demanding a full return. I have already reported him and blocked him from future dealings.

How do you deal with these kind of people and what is your recommendation on the case.

Good day, in order to deal with this is to accept the return and give him a full refund. If you do not PP will take the money from your PP account regardless. Remember, Buyer Protection protects the buyer for 45 days after purchase even if you do not accept returns. Might as well refund so this case doesn't count against you. Its up to you if you want to pay for the return shipping, but if not you risk a negative.

BTW, If a buyer PAYS too much for an item expect a case because of buyers remoarse

- Don't know what sort of fragile item is that but is it new or used? Is there any change item broken while in transit?
- Some people don't open their delivered package the same day it was delivered. Or just try to make sure it really broken.
- He have the right to demand for the return postal if that is your fault and with full refund.
- How do you report him/her and for what reason?

Check the buyer feedback to see if there is any Neg in the Pos feedback.

For just $30 - $40 I would just let it go to save the account.

yeah I refunded him and ate the lost. kinda whack how buyers can manipulate the system.

hopefully I avoided a negative so its a lesson learned, but that still bothers me.

What mail service did you use? Try filing a claim to recoup some of your losses.

If you used USPS Priority Mail for example, by default it comes with $50 insurance, so you can file a domestic claim and get that money back there.

That's right....for a $40 item, you should be able to get that back from PO, but I've done this new online claim, and it's a royal pain.

refunded him in full, got positive feedback and KEPT ON GOING!!

sometimes eating a loss is simply part of biz and in the long run miniscule.

glad you at least got the positive. Sometimes it just isn't worth the hassle. Do try to get some of your money back if you can through the shipper you used.
