When I had my original account in 2012/2013.. I made more $$ from Dec 27 to Jan 8 then I did the whole year. I'm surprised I didn't get limited!!

I believe that ebay system has enhanced tolerance to sellers since they lost revenue in the last few years.

During that time I did everything by hand and with my laptop. I remember that I had my laptop plugged in USB to my half broken printer and literately every time I printed a label to package... Another item was sold. It was the most fun I've ever had on eBay.

Sales picked up the last couple days . Today so far I've sold 70% of what I'd normally sell in the entire day.

I can't get excited tho, because any time I've had a good day, ebay throttles me. Imagine, being WORRIED about having a good sales day. That's what ebay has accomplished.

" ugh, great, I sold a lot today. not again......"

Don't you think that they hide our listings and prevent us from making good money and yet we keep paying their huge fees. Isn't it theft?

I am just trying to make a point, I always pay ebay fees but i would not consider it theft if one was not paying ebay fees.

You could file a claim in small claims court, but just the filing fees/attorney fees/time isn't worth it. If they are really manipulating search results then maybe we could get a big group together a few lawyers and file a class action lawsuit for deceptive business practices, but then again you have to prove it and with today's technology, I"m sure there good at covering their tracks.

James your avatar is pretty original it cracks me up. I felt the same way you did around the end of November 2 weeks into December. Don't think about it too much because it will stress you out and make you sick. Just some words of advice. I've also had a few sales after not having one for over a week I don't know what's up with them but I'm going to try and find out.

You seem like the type of person that walks out of a restaurant without paying the bill because the waiter was a jerk but you at the entire meal...

You are using their services.
You are paying for their traffic for people to see your items...

It is theft. Theft of services.

Your example has nothing to do with this situation. If waiter served me a bad or lack of food , yes of course i would not pay the bill.

If i was saying that ''I don't pay ebay bills because ebay customer support was rude'' then your example would make sense.

If you read carefully above i said i always pay ebay fees. However , if one did not pay their bill, i would not consider it theft. Because ebay is a multibillion public owned company with a lot of revenue and yet their bussiness ethics are dirty. I don't think it is theft of service.

That is all i am saying.

I agree with you. MY brother is a lawyer, a good one but not in US though. So he is useless :)

I did really well from October to middle of this month which made me wonder if I should just list items ion Winter! If I had enough stock I would only have to work in Winter!

Not saying I agree with him in general, but I do agree that this is a poor example, for the reasons he already mentioned.

If the services they are providing you, are no longer the services they said they are providing you, then he has a point. So far, ebay manipulates search results, they actively HIDE your listings that you paid them to not hide. You know, the money you paid for to have traffic to your products, which they yank away from you at no moments notice. All that, while keeping it a secret. With all that aside, they've actively stole money from people. Destroyed lives in the process. Held money for sometimes indefinite amount of times. Completely disregard sellers in disputes. Cheat us out of fees.

Would two wrongs ever make a right? Hell no. Would I feel even the TINY BIT guilty for skipping out on ebays tab? I would sleep a lot more soundly at night, then I have thus far from worrying that ebay will once again ruin my life.

Actually thinking of which, I found a really good niche last October and sold thousands of stock of this specific item. I think Chinese sellers caught on to me because I reordered 500pcs of the item and suddenly they just STOPPED selling and I was running for my money. I did a search and there were many listings more than half of my price. I made good money but I was soooo frustrated!!

No one is going to sue ebay for visibility. It is clear as day in the TOS that you agreed to when opening your ebay account. They are not being deceptive by any means.

My sales have been increasing every week since January 1st...

I kinda figured it'd slow down but I'm more busy now than during the holiday season, go figure.

My Christmas rush seemed to end on the 18th January - sales were as good after Christmas as before.
Now they are just plodding along.
I figured last year that (say) if i had 200 listings instead off 100 a month I'd make more sales - this didn't happen.
Which makes me wonder if all the throttling talk is correct.
