I think it is great that this posting is still active and always make a point to come back and read up on the additions to it whenever I notice someone else has added something to it, there is a wealth of info in here that is always useful to pick up on, that and the fact that quite often it is a laugh as well! So I say keep up on it everyone and add your 2 penneth worth to it ( just to add a bit of traditional Brit talk to it!) as I haven't quite got back onto adding my latest account I haven't really got anything useful to add to add to the discussion yet |

I am mostly selling on weekend, but last two week was too slow for me. I mostly sell electronics and beauty item. |

Clothing still ticking along. Shame about the high number of returns during December.
I sell clothes that are more popular during Autumn to end of Spring as weather warms up sales drop.
June July August goes very quiet. |

I have seen eBay is laying off employees. All the Financial news outlets seem to claim eBay is losing market share. I am sure it depends on the category. None the less they are laying off employees. |

Well my main range (clothes) sales have completely died after selling nicely since Christmas. my last sale was Saturday!
I've been selling some cheap items to boost defect rate and luckily they are still ticking along. |

I saw an article yesterday that eBay was upset about last years earnings - maybe they shouldn't have shut down so many of us! |

Exactly, what is happening to them now is clearly a case of what goes around comes around, they dropped the sellers and now droves of sellers are leaving them anyway, they have forgotten about really good customer service, which should be the very essence of what they are about |

| 5 year old account selling $6-10,000 a month. Would be more then $10k if it wasn't for ebay. I only have one other account, that I sell a different product on. |

sales thrott;ing and visability manipulation of BIN is very real. Bigger the account the more effected.
Run five ten accounts at one time with the same items/categories and you will see this very clearly.
Visibility manipulation gets harder and harder even with auctions. |

| It's definitely real, there has been a huge change from 14 months ago to now, I used to nurture Stealths for 3 months with low cost items and once the holds were lifted Id list an item I sell and if I had 100 item limit I would sell all 100 BIN listings for $60 within 2 days and it was like that for over a year from the time I started selling
Than after the holidays last year maybe February or March it was a dramatic difference, I would not be able to sell even one of these items on a TRS account as a BIN listing
I switched to Auctions and yes would sell at 100% but was struggling to sell the item that would fly for $60 BIN FOR $40 range Auction
So I thought maybe it was the item until I did something I usually don't do in a newish account and I listed it BIN for $60 again and on the new account I had 6 listed and they all sold within the hour, while the same item on my TRS accounts were struggling in Auctions to break $40
So now I try to rotate new Accounts and I actually am getting higher Sales for this item in New Accounts
But once the Account has PayPal holds the item struggles to sell, so I keep it always rotating on newer Accounts
There are certain higher priced items I'll use aged accounts for with no holds |

Most of my sales are BIN in the same category. I've tripled my number of these BINs but sales have hardly risen even though my photographs have become more professional and I have expanded the sizes and brands of my items.
I've been scratching my head over it for 12 months.
The only time sales improved was in the run up to Christmas and then not significantly. |

I use relist for items with watchers. I was told sell similar isn't much better, and that you should just do fresh listings.

| Your items may not be good for auctions. I would test it with your most popular item.
Relist items with watchers even when making a new listing. |

It definitely sucks! I hate when I have to switch accounts to spread sales and end my BIN listings with hundreds of sales that are ranked high in searches to start new |

| I've had some slow sales as of lately as well. I took advice and was just patient but it's hurting my pocket. I think they have manipulated search results or there are visibility issues. I use to have a store on there and did well with it, I'm debating whether to open a store on there again but then again so much has changed and people are a lot cheaper too. I currently have a legit account 100 items or 5K whatever comes first. I hate this duplicate listing policy it's killing me, I hate that multi-merger if I want to unload stuff I like to use to put a lot of auctions up but I guess they stopped doing that to save bandwidth or condense things who knows. |

I'll create accounts make the first sale right away and than let them sit for a few months and when you go back to them they still get the sales a New account gets and you also can list a little more aggressive than an account that is brand new
It's aged a few months which gives the account more strength but it is still new to selling so you get that nice traffic new accounts seem to be getting
| I use your method and it seems work %50. I have made some little modifications and i will see how it goes.

| I sell as much as I can until the sale prices or sales in general fall off. Also when I am approaching the 1099k requests.
Letting rest does not seem to make any difference to me. Unless you are selling to lift the holds and waiting to use the account for later in the year such as Holiday season. |

If i have two eBay seller accounts under same details and the first is being throttled could i start selling on the second until THAT one is being throttled? And then just go back to the first & switch from one to the other as sales drop? |

| Ironically I just had a sale, not a big sale but just like you going 10 days without a sale makes you wonder? But your right a lot of people are paying off their Credit Cards from Xmas/Holiday Gifts from the past two years according to some poll they did. I heard that on the radio a few days ago which makes sense. I always felt January was a month for returns given I did a high volume of selling in the months prior some years, and January would usually be good for sales and February it's real dead.
I just think there's so many online platforms trying to compete as well as the dumb reality tv shows showing the industry to people the past 5 years saturated the market heavily imho.. oh well that's life I guess |

Don't you think that they hide our listings and prevent us from making good money and yet we keep paying their huge fees. Isn't it theft?
I am just trying to make a point, I always pay ebay fees but i would not consider it theft if one was not paying ebay fees. |
