My sales were slow until I studied the market and really started to be competitive in my pricing. You have to do your homework in your category and be competitive in your pricing and shipping costs.
Big profits are nice, but when you have a large inventory, it's good to drop prices a bit to move items quickly and turn a profit.
My sales just picked up once I made some slight adjustments with listings, shipping, and pricing.

I make my money on the buy. When consumables price as a commodity, I mix it up. I buy out entire retail stores. I make a one lump sum offer and clear out all existing stock.
Now that I am moving many accounts to VPN and VMware, we will list right on the spot. Never handle a product more than once. Straight up .99 auctions all ending on the best nights and times and ship from location. When one stealth hits its selling limits/paypal, list onto the next.
This is an entire new business model for me, lol

This is an entire new business model for me, lol | It's a really good one, just keep moving on to a different stealth account, once u get tied into one is when they hide more and more of your listings, keep Accounts fresh and Moving

So list 40 items on auction that you expect to end $300-500 has worked very very well so far.
I have not received one request from paypal either...Yet. I am milking one account and should get it tomorrow for sure. It may just exceed 15K tonight and has already collect 4-5K

At first I was trying to spread sales deep, but all sorts of issues came up. Crossing IPs in error, mixed up pics, using multiple photo booths and change constantly to make them all seem like differant sellers, a mess on shipping and my shippers(My fault for not having all notifications sent to one email address, poor systems)
Then we just listed to the max and then changed photo booths/backdrops, etc...and listed to the max.
MUCH MUCH EASIER so far anyways.

MUCH MUCH EASIER so far anyways. | It is all a matter of adjusting that selling plan.
What worked a month ago, might not work this week.
Where there were glitches, it's imperative to grasp that & resolve them.
Have to keep the business flowing, imo. | | The Following User Says Thank You to GreenBean For This Useful Post:

Have to keep the business flowing, imo. | I didn't start seeing glitches until about a month ago. I stand corrected on any comment I've made about "not seeing glitches"... the more accounts you have the more noticable this thing is.
But I 100% agree that its a matter of adjusting then complaning like some members do. Does nothing but waste valuable time.

Yeah, sales are bad in my case... Competitive prices. I feel there is something we don't know about.
My guess:
1. Google hit
2. eBay algorithm modification in the back-end, which essentially we don't know about.
3. Shoppers turned elsewhere.

You guys who are slow, are you selling in a saturated market?
I am cranking along as good as ever and I am only talking about new stealth accounts selling mostly used archery items...
Good like it was 8-10 years ago.

yankee I'm selling the same products as ever. Until now, had like 30-50 orders/day, now only 7-11/day. Some friends also got bad sales.

I am burning a raised limit account almost everyday and usually can get 1.5x the limit out of an account. It is crazy, but I also have the inventory and manpower and run a slew of .99 auctions.

I'm already getting away with crazy prices that SHOULDN'T sell for what they are but ..hey I'm not complaning.
Its only the 1st!!! Each day closer to christmas the more traffic I keep on getting. First holiday season and I'm LOVING IT!!!!!
Like I said in a earlier post, if your slow right now you really need to rethink your approach to selling. Mainly speaking to the newer people selling on eBay not the veterns who know their stuff. This should be the busiest time for you as a seller as its the time people spend spend spend spend spend!!!!

You've been active I'm sure longer than me on eBay..
