Lost a good account today
 

Yeah my dumba** i made a new paypal account under the same user account as my ebay well i deleted all my cookies includeing flash and change my ip and logged into my main ebay account a pre 9/11 at that and i get hit with a ID Comfrim page so they must call my phone which was a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ number i used along ago. So i went to put in a new number and it says (What Street Did I Grow Up On) as my secert ? well i new what it was and i got me a new number and entered in the secert ? but it said it was wrong even though it was'nt so i tried like 3 times and then went and changed it to something else and still it would not work! Well after the 4th time it would'nt let me do it no more so i had to do (live chat) after doing this there was really nothing they could do besides me sending a fax of a id and such to them or log back on with the same flash cookie i deleted and ip but i cant cause i deleted it so now i guess im SOL on a good account cause of there mistake not accepting my seceret ?

Do u guys think i could use system restore and set it back a few days and have the same flash cookies and stuff back on the pc to log back into that account?

Same thing happened to me recently. I mostly use the same secret info so i don't forget, but this particular account i had put something different. After the 4th time it gave me a message like "you have used all you attempts please contact live support" I dug through the 3 full notebooks of accounts i have and found the correct answer. I was still logged in, so now I was trying to find away of putting it in without contacting live support. I think i went through ebay motors or tried to relist an item and it gave me another chance to confirm my identity by phone and i had to answer the secret question to change the number. If all else fails, change the info in your contact info, you have the account password so you should be able to do that.

Yeah but werid thing was i used the right ? and oddly im still able to sale on the account i use auctive and they all autorlisted and i was able to list through auctiva but when i try to change certin things it wont let me

Do you use a router? We recently had a powercut that re-set the router and for some reason it affected all my web-based accounts - although I had the right log-in details I kept being denied entry to everything - ebay, hotmail, gmail as well as all the forums I go on. I'm no techie so don't know the reasons of this but when I changed the settings on my router things worked ok again.
