They can ask for government issued ID (driver's licence, passport) - they can TRY to ask for SIN but it's not a mandatory requirement...you aren't NOT obligated to give a SIN
Paypal Canada DO NOT mandate you to enter your SIN. Unlike US laws, Canadian laws does not allow a company to ask you for your SIN unless they're issuing you with credit products. Even so, you have the right to deny the request.
Please prove your claim.
I use many different Canadian accounts of various age and statuses and nowhere does any of the accounts requires a SIN under any circumstances. Like I said before, it's illegal for Paypal to forcibly collect your SIN if they're not issuing you with credit products.
