Default Shipping Label Created Meaning?

The title says it all. I have dropped off a couple packages in the past day and all the tracking shows is the time I initially paid for the label threw Paypal and then it shows "Shipping Label Created" as a update around 6pm for all packages?

I know its the busy season but was curious if anyone else has experienced this before? I have more packages I need to ship out tomorrow so I'm a tad bit worried. I was told many times that packages get delayed/lost around this time.

Just a few extra details...
2 packages were dropped in the local post office box (1 day ago), 1 was in the actual post office (today).
All shipped priority mail and with USPS boxes.

I know this is early but all my packages get updated usually around 10pm or around 6am the next day...

It means the postal employees are busy and dont scan packages. Some cities are worse than others.

Also, sometimes the website updates slow or sometimes in past year, not until a day or two after the item is delivered..

Things DO get delayed at this time of year, it is true. But it is also true that - depending upon your local post office - sometimes items only get scanned when they arrive at the regional sorting center. In fact, I have seen packages make it all the way across the country without EVER hitting a scan point, until the packages were delivered.

I live where there is a small 1 person post office. Often, my packages don't get scanned when I drop them off, they only get into the system at the sorting center. So, I get the occasional impatient buyer demanding to know when I am going to ship their package. I explain it the way I did above, and tell them their package will be there in a couple of days. It usually happens.

For all the complaining people do about the post office, they RARELY lose packages. And, for the most part, they are usually on time with their deliveries.

Most of the time it is eBay's site that hasn't updated.

If you copy and paste the tracking number into Google, it will show you the "true" tracking info from the carrier.

Yes, a very true statement...Selling on eBay for over 10 years and have only lost one package and that was 2 months ago. I was lucky and unlucky...

Lucky that it was only a $10. item

Unlucky that I got a defect.

That is a good point about eBay not having the latest information. ALWAYS check the USPS website directly if you want the actual up-to-date status of the package.

They all updated.

I just got a little worried because it was strange to me they all updated saying the same thing at 6:00 pm give or take a few minutes. Never seen that happen before. Kinda sucks one is just getting shipped out as it should have yesterday but I suppose thats because of the holiday season.

Oh well...

About the google thing, I always do this as your all right about the whole eBay being glitchy/slow on updating tracking. Again thanks for the super fast replies

BTW USPS has yet to lose one of my packages (knock on wood) ...but there are plenty members on this forum that say the contrary.

@tgmt that is kinda bittersweet. Did the buyer leave a negative feedback?

my local USPS has been horrible and scans are very scarce right now. They probably hate me since i drop off like 50-100 packages each day

Very smart move during the Xmas season - a little gift goes a long way

Nothing that a little thank you gift might not solve...
