Default Do i have grounds for argument?

Ok so last year around October i sold an item for £344.58 and it all went well then i found out the buyer wanted a refund which i accepted and asked them to send the item back (36pcs)
I only ever received one item back out of the full 36 and notified ebay immediately and was then told that i would not have to pay the refund due to the fact i never received the item back.

Now i've been getting emails from Ebay saying that collections efforts wil be made and have been threatened court

Am i able to appeal this in anyway?

What was the 36pc item?.
Does buyer claim to have sent all 36pc with tracking but only sent one piece.
Trying to get my head round this and would kind of help knowing if these are 36 different items or one item containing 36pcs???

Ah i see.
Do they.claim to have sent back all 36 items??
Also, did they send the one item back with tracking?
Just trying to establish whether someone is trying to con you.
If they have claimed to have sent all items back with tracking then weight should be seen on tracking site.
Whats the feedback like for this buyer?
Lot of questions i know but difficult to give an opibion without more details

The problem is you have to prove they only sent one item back.

This is the most common scam buyers do.

It all comes down to your account and the history you have on it. If this is a established selling account (not brand new) than MAYBE if you get the right rep on the line you can convince them they scammed you.

Phones skills need to be A+ in this situation.

Did ebay just tell your over the phone that you did not have to refund the buyer or did they tell you by email, if email and you still have it then you have that as proof that they ok'd it, if it was just over the phone then as has been said you need to try standing your ground, did you get a name of the rep you spoke to who said you were ok, ebay of course are one of the biggest scam merchants around, the emails they send with contradictory info in them is becoming legendary

Yeah, ebay records all their phone conversations. I've actually had a manager go over the phone call with an ebay rep, to hear that he DID indeed tell me that he was going to do the case in my favor, when in fact he didn't.

Same thing happened to me.. I sold 5 PC of something and received 1 PC back and it was broken..

Ebay sides with the buyer at those cases..

What are you talking about court? does the buyer trying to sue you?

Unfortunately original poster hasnt been back on to answer all our questions. Dont entirely know yet whether OP,s buyer claims to have sent all of the stuff back and whether tracking is involved.
Sorry same thing happenned to you. A god awful situation to be in. Surely in other persons case, if buyer has claimed to have sent back 36 pcs but only one in truth, then they surely would have had to have sent tracked post to cover themselves. And if this is the case, the weight should reveal all, one would hope :-)
