Yea this is interesting and definitely something new, in 3 years and a lot of paypal accounts paypal was always very firm and accounts needed that 90 day history for them to lift holds, yes the occasional transaction does slip thru, but this is now going to be 6 days and all 4 accounts I'm currently selling on

Also it seems others are experiencing the same, not a huge deal, just interesting to see a change like this and to see where they are going

I still question as to it having something to do with the ebay/paypal split taking place in the next few months.

I can also confirm a personal stealth of mine that began selling in december no longer has holds, began late last week

Okay...somebody play some twilight zone music please!

Just earlier today, I said I had never had money from an eBay payment NOT held until the 25/25/90 day criteria was met.......

Well, low and behold tonight my newest account that only had 8 sales previously, sold 6 items and they all have no hold on them????


That's pretty weird, and I'm kind of freaked out by the timing......here's it's info for anyone who is curious.

Seller account created June 15th.

The 1st item was sold on July 9th

I have been just letting it sit, and it has only sold 8 items total ($600) until tonight.

Tonight it sold about $700 for 6 items....no holds, amazing.....

Haha alright I withdraw my previous comments. I have a stealth account that has holds lifted on paypals side. In other words I got a very late mc999 on a account and was told from that date I'd have to wait an additional 90 days.... It's been about 45 after the mc999.

Interesting.....

We knew changes were coming... Just a matter of "what" changes and from who.

Has anyone received a direct payment to paypal to see if holds are still in place?

I have had direct payments to my PPs without holds but the PPs of mine are not newly-created.

I mean with these new accounts...I think this solely has to do with ebay not telling paypal to hold funds for whatever reason. I haven't invoiced anyone and received a payment otherwise, so I can't say for sure.

Maybe there's something going on.......But Ebay/Paypal are all nuts so who knows, maybe someone bumped the "Don't Hold Money" switch to On!

I have a account here that is 60 days old and still has the 21 day holds on and I have one 30 days old that has no holds on it...the **** they do never makes sense.

I also have new accounts that when i sold my first item, I had received Instant Payment.

This scares me because I am sure that they will be doing something else to offset this that will affect us. I believe that if they are giving a foot,then they will be taking 2 feet back.

If not ...it really could be one of the *many* changes that both platforms start implementing.

Well, before today, in my 16 years on eBay....

I've never had a non-hold without all the criteria being met....

UPDATE........the first 4 items that sold last night on my (only 8 previous sales) account had no holds on the money, BUT the last 2 out of the 6 that just got paid for.....DID get a hold put on the funds.......go figure!

I don't see this lasting much longer, it's probably a glitch that they will close up soon, it just doesn't make sense that they would keep this going on new accounts with no selling history

Could be a change in software or something and everything is not up and running properly yet from the break off with eBay

If that's what has happened, that's a big bummer.......


But I agree with you Shark.......they can't just let people sell 20K of Phake Rolexs 1st day of an account and then just disappear...that just cannot happen....

I was thinking the same thing.

Normal users might not of even noticed but obviously we did/do :dance:

Loophole has been patched....all of my transactions have holds today. And this is for cheap no-risk items.
