Default Is this eBay's trap to make you pay owed fees?

Okay Guys, This month i decided to just put on my stealth helmet and create accounts because i knew the account i was using was going downhill fast. I went from powerseller in one month to it dont get deeper than the shade of red they they gave me on my seller performance tab with open cases and negative feedback being handed left right and centre. Now just to add absolutley none was my fault, just those typical scammers and dubious buyers. Due to the way it was going, i swore i was never gonna pay my seller fees that was accumulating at £3.5k.

Now this had been coming over a 3 month period and i went from having a 600 item/£600,000 selling facility to 10 items/£15,000...That was to show you how bad they viewed me, so as everyone knows, recovering from that is just totally impossible. Above all, every single negative feedback i appealed against with the defects was not granted.

So 5 days ago they suspended me for not paying my ebay seller fees which i expected but all of a sudden this evening i got this message

"Great job! You've recently improved your seller performance on eBay in the US programme. You’re no longer Below Standard"..and an offer of becoming a POWERSELLER again!

So i dont know if anybody has experienced this but surely it must be for me to pay them that cake?? and lead me into a false sense of security, once i pay, they suspend me from selling.I smell a trap! (at least account is on stealth anyway!)

My opinion is that i smell a trap. This scenario was mentioned not long ago on the forum by another member.
Obviously it might not be a trap but i had an account years ago that suspended me till i resolved issues on another account. Issues were resolved and did NOT get reinstated.

Good move to start making more accounts.

And unfortunately you will have to make arrangements to pay your fees whatever the outcomeso probably makes sense to pay your fees and call their bluff so to speak. Then if it goes pearshaped, your fees are clear, then u can keep moving forward with your other accounts :-)

If you go to a car wash and they wash your car, you got to pay them or go to jail it does not matter whether they are willing to wash you car again in the future!

The fact is, you listed on the ebay platform.. and whether or not you believe your DSR ratings and negatives are not justified, you STILL have to pay your ebay fee's.

DSR ratings are easy to fix, even if it does take time and if you have an account with limits like yours, it is worth fixing.

They may make you a powerseller again but it does not mean your selling limits have changed.

If your ebay fee's are infact £3500 you must sell a LOT of items per month which means there must be a lot of defects on your account which made you go below standard, so i would assume that IS your fault and you need to find out or figure out what you are doing that is making your account get this way or you will just end up getting there again.

Look closely at your business model!

Your story on here is a prime example of how crazy Ebay suddenly became, doing so much business, and they think nothing of suspending you!! They are getting into such dire straits that they are more than likely going to get taken over before too much longer anyway, as has previously been said, either by Google, Amazon, or Alibaba! Which of those three would be allowed to take eBay on time will tell, anything UK based would run up against the monopolies commission of course as having too much power and influence in one area, maybe that would be a similar scenario for US bases companies as well!

@Bunneh...I totally disagree with you. I always been religously good with my real accounts and stealth one. My business model has been Tight and i have always gotten increases substantially monthly. I became a powerseller on a stealth one in like 2.5 months

DSR's are not too easy to fix cause its like a quagmire,. As the previous poster says, its the unpredictablility of ebay

Classic left hand of ebay not having a clue what the right hand of ebay is doing.

Yes, this has been reported before & on ebay UK. Not had reported recently. Used to happen a few years ago.

What a mess for you.

Letting an account hit BELOW STANDARD is your fault.

Negative ratings and low DSR are not given without reason.

You ship fast, Free shipping ( or low shipping) Describe absolutely EVERYTHING about your items.. and post ASAP and you can avoid most of your problems.

DON'T DROP SHIP... it is the cause of most problems.

But as i said the ratio of your DSR with the amount of fee's you have to pay says you have A LOT of low dsr and negatives so yes you let your account get this bad and now blame ebay.
When it could have been fixed sooner.

You will see, if you choose not to take blame for your mistakes then your new account will have the same problems and you will be back here with the same situation.

@Bunneh

YOU CAN LIST AN ITEM AS FOR PARTS AND NOT WORKING WITH A MILLION PICTURES AND STILL GET A MORON OPEN UP A CASE THAT IS NOT DESCRIBED AND NEGATIVE FEEDBACK!!

So how would that be my fault???????????????????!!!!!!

That might happen once might happen twice but not enough to be below standard unless someone is spending money and stealth bombing you
