possible postal alert

This is what ive come across on my ⊗⊗⊗⊗ facebook account. May be truth in it, maybe not. Havent checked.

Apparantly ebay are going to be informing us all soon that sending by a postal service which does not include the postcode within its tracking ibformation will not win a claim even if signed for.
It was apparantly advised by a CS rep this morning who said that people need to be taking screenshots of their postcode when booking a collection online.

I thought it did but apparantly DHL, royal mail and a.couple of others dont.
So when a buyer says they didnt receive it, though it was signed for, they will w8n if the postcode is not within trackibg info.

Kind of.confusing me this but hopefully someone else will know.

It might be nothing but i saw it and thought id mention it on here :-)

Cannot find such a thing on google search?

Does the person you heard it from have a credible source for proof?

To be honest i dont think this could come into force, as they know MOST people on ebay use Royal Mail and therefore cannot implement such an action, Since royal mail only state the local sorting office on the signature.
Which is what paypal and ebay check for when trying to verify items not received.

Credible....im ⊗⊗⊗⊗ on.there so tricky.
He has had 6 cases closed to buyers favour even though they signed.

Apparantly, royal mail, dhl, despatch bay and parcel.force are the only ones that dont show postcodes within their tracking.

Just what i read bunneh. Thought id mention it. It might be nothing but if someone came on here saying it had happenned to them, id feel.terrible for not bringing it up :-)

Most cases are decided in the buyers favour lol..

But as always, if a buyer signs for an item and opens a case of non receipt,
Ebay will refund the buyer out of there OWN pocket and not the sellers, but it will stills say it was won in the buyers favour.

Either that happened or he uploaded wrong or false tracking info.
As you listed the most popular postage options on ebay, and it is highly unlikely ebay will implement something like this if its one sided.

I totally agree with you. This person states that ebay pays out too much money out of their own pocket and they are stopping it by telling buyers to use a service which includes postcode within tracking or they will not be covered.
Im sure youre 100% right bunneh. Just thought id share it though to be on the safe side as this is still all kinda new to me :-)

Thing is , it doesn't matter whether you have a tracking with postal code, photo, video of you bringing the parcel on a plane and delivering it to the buyer's home by hand... buyers will always win.

They will always get their money back one way or another

I agree. This is what eBay has come to unfortunately. Unless your one of the following:

Multinational Corporation

Then you will have the odds against you. Selling high value items on ebay is just not worth it anymore. I just keep everything to less than 100$.

The buyer can always file a CB all day long. So you never win at the end of the day.

Selling on ebay is like investing in stocks. Don't sell more than you can lose.
