Just Received a Call from eBay Checking up On Me
 

I listed 3 items that are name brand on an account that is 6 months old but just 50 days into selling with 111 sales and 50 Feedbacks

Really Strange, I was caught off guard, I have a few phone Apps on my IPad for different accounts, and I'll keep the accounts that I'm selling on logged in.

It rang I picked up, and I'm using 2 accounts that have the same first name, and he said that he needed to ask a couple questions, I asked to hold for a second

Luckily he started off by asking your user account name is "Useracccount" followed by what 4 digits, so I knew which account it was, I was nervous he was going to ask for my last name, I would of had to do a coin flip, I answered really quick and didn't bother to check from which number

Anyway he asked where I got the items from and when I told him that was it, but I bet if I didn't answer that call Id of gotten restricted from selling

So keep your phones on and ready!!!😃

bummer. I don't have phones for the vast majority of my accounts. I guess it is time to start adding them.

When he says he would've restricted the account if you did not answer - meaning restricted until you contact them back.

Lets not spin everyone into a panic here.

Nothing new, accounts have been limited or restricted for not having an active number especially when they call for a security issue

I had a account that I didn't pay fees on for about 2 months early on in my stealth days and got limited (obviously) but after I paid fees and tried to list a item I couldn't.

They told me I had to "update" and "verify" my phone number. Probably because they tried calling asking me to pay the fees.

Always wise to have a phone number that you can actually use when doing stealth long term.

If you paid your fees in time then you shouldn't have to worry about them contacting you.

Dumb question, but if you don't pay your fees, don't they just take them out of your paypal account?

I have physical phones for all my accounts but I never answer any calls, all those numbers have been used in the past so I get like 5 calls a week from random numbers. Impossible to know when it's ebay and I can't have them around with me either lol

What if i don't wanna pick up people phone calls? That makes no sense, my accounts would be restricted for ignoring stranger phone calls?

It's rare for them to call for no reason...

Unless your TRS and or a Power Seller. But even if you didn't have a active # all they can do is request you to get one. People change #'s all the time. Its technically in the policy you have to have active information but that's kinda like j-walking...

If you have a phone number attached to an ebay account, then no stranger is calling in.....

I know you are trying to run multiple accounts, but you need to work out what priorities you have with your accounts.

on December 12th ebay called me and told me an account was reinstated. Part of the of process to was manually confirm the number.

50 something days to get that account back and it would not have happened that day if I did not randomly answer. Now I am wondering how many attempted calls may I have missed not be a regular phone number and always on.
