Please help urgently. Advice on defects

Hi guys....I have had a couple of non paying bidders on my ebay account and shock horror, i was told by some agent the other day that opening unpaid cases against the buyers might give me defects. How true is this

They say the safer option would be to get the buyer to cancel the order but most buyers say they dont know how to do this.

Lol more bull from ebay reps.

Opening NPB cases does not result in a defect.

You can't get a buyer to cancel an item. There is no option for them to do that.

Turn on unpaid item assistant and set the duration in which you want the unpaid item case to be opened automatically.

good advice but I like to watch my unpaid cases personally so I do not piss off someone that wants to pay or does pay. I like to keep customers happy!

Nonsense part by the agent or perhaps you misunderstood - open the NPB case - block the buyer - move on

okay guys but if i open the case against a buyer that genuinely wants to cancel the transaction, they saying because i initiated the case, it does not look favourable and its like as a seller im pulling out of the case

NON SENSE.

I never cancel transactions, well, not ever, but almost never. Unpaid items get unpaid item cases. An exception would be if someone bought 20 items and only meant to buy 2 items etc...

Make it simple use unpaid assistant , I usually give 5 Days, and cases are opened and closed automatically

If a buyer doesn't pay by 5 days they usually will never pay or will message you before asking for more time and than that's when I'll turn off unpaid assistant
