Default what should I do ? Refund buyer or let EBAY handle

Hey everybody ! I need some people's advice

So I sold a iPhone 6 . Listed under parts/not working and also stated In title phone was for parts and also stated in ad that phone was for parts .

Buyer buys phone and upset he can't use it because it's been reported lost. Buyer also says he was full refund and he will think about sending phone back after he gets his refund .

Also this buyer is out of the country . I was considering sending him a prepaid label to send back but the way he's talking I think if I send a prepaid label with a different address he will say something in the messages and when EBAY review . I don't know what will happen . I've never been I. This Senario before .

So my question is what should I do ? Or what would YOU do rather .

Phone sold for $350 ... I would prefer not to take a $350 loss but I guess doodoo :-) happens sometimes but do I have any chance ???

I don't even know how I can get the phone back without him being an ass about it .

Need help !!!

I'd let eBay take control of it and force the buyer to return the item for the refund. Maybe he'll be too lazy etc and won't follow thru.

You knew it was reported lost.. did you say something about it in the description?

iPhones are risky items remember!

The million dollar question is sense I'm using stealth the address for return I do not have access to . How do I actually get the buyer to send to another address . I usually send prepaid labels with my address no problem .

But I don't know about this character he may mention the different address in the messages and the address is linked to a banned EBAY account .

I know iPhones are risky . I usually only sell broken ones and sell 1 a month.

To answer your question . No I did not mention it was lost i title . That's just what this guy is saying .

But I did clearly say the phone was for parts and had a password .

So I can assume he reset the phone and that's when he got a message saying the phone was reported lost

This is one reason i do not sell internationally. Everyone says "you lose sales that way"...but honestly its more headache than its worth. I wouldnt give him a dime until you get the phone back...it could get escalated to ebay and they may say for him to send the phone back to get a refund. Doesnt mean he will...since it will be on his dime. Even if he does and its sent to the address they have on file, if youre already prepared to lose your money by refunding him then its the same story. Although now he has to work for his refund.

Makes sense . I may just see what happens ...

And as a side note I NEVER ship over seas . However on this ad I forget to click "do ship international * so it auto listed under global shipping . Which I never signed up for ...

But anyway sense the sale happened I decided to ship because I did not want to cancel the sale and put a flag on the account . How here I am , dealing with this BS LOL eh, I agree I hate dealing internationally . Something always happens eventually . More times than only selling in usa . I just have to learn not to speak thru listing all the time . Overlook minor things sometimes

Go into your settings...site preferences. Check off everywhere you don't want to ship to. Then go into block settings and check off block bidders in countries I don't ship to. Then check the box for "apply to all current and future listings" or whatever the box says. At that point, you won't ever have to deal with an international buyer again.

I tell something what is rough is ALL the basic errors you made.

Did not tick the right box to prevent International shipping. (Big Oops)

Gave the buyer too much info: wtf would sell a cell phone for parts but say there was a password? (C'mon, you knew more than you EVER should have told a buyer)....

Buyer saw you coming because you were careless.

What country is the buyer from?

If he refuses to send the phone back, ask EB to step in. Never ever hive refunds before you get your item back. As buyer will always get a refund, if he really wants it, and if he does, he will not send the item back, especially if it costs 350 usd.

I've had a few problems with sending refunds on eBay and Amazon and the buyer being slow sending items back or never sending them back if I refunded in advance. I would recommend against this.
