Default DSR. How to beat it in a month

I have never really had a issue with DSR before to this extend.

But the month of April has been a bad month.

I was going to become Top Rated Seller next month but with some nasty buyers or can competitive, I am down to Above Standards next month.

Currently I am at 3.31%.
I need to go on 2% in a month.
I am on 3 months evaluation

From what I am trying to understand is if I sell around 500 items before 20th May.
Would these defects % go down? Or is depends on whether they come of my account?

Say I am 3.31% now. Selling loads would still see my defects on 3.31% or would it go down in %
Or still stay the same

Sorry. I never really had DSR problems before that I get panicked to this extend.
Account is real too.

New better understanding of this

Thanks

The amount of items you need to sell to get to 2%, depends on how many sales you have had in the last 3 months.

Without the stats from your seller dashboard, its impossible to say exactly how many sales you need.

Basiclly though, the more sales you make, the lower the defect percentage wil be. (assuming you don't accrue any new defects)

For the next few months I sell loads to maintain 3.31% and wait for these to fall off.

You won't maintain 3.31%.

It will increase or decrease depending on whether you get any new defects or not.

A good way of increasing good DSR ratings is to find a cheap product you can sell loads of without the risks and that you break even on or make very little profit, this way you increase the total number of items sold whilst increasing Good DSR's to offset the the not so good one's.

Something's wrong with the math. 4 defects in 786 transactions is .05%. It would take around 25 defects in 786 transactions to equal 3.31%.

To get transactions down to 2% ( Basically half what you have now ) would take somewhere around another 500-600 ( slightly under twice as many as you have now ) completely trouble free transactions.

You might get some easing of that number if you have defects that are 1 to 2 months from dropping off.

Still, that's a pretty tough bar to meet.

Top rated is basically a target for complaints anyway, my number of defects are cut in half when I don't have it. The savings are miniscule and I can't tell that it has ever improved my visibility.

Very hard to do with the math involved.

Dallis you are right.

I have not shown a screen shot of the dashboard.
I did forget to state the rest metrics

I checked my dashboard today evening and it has decreased to 3.17
That's a relief.

I am selling products that are from poundshop which is doing good.
Total transaction has of today is 822.

I can get 3 defects off since I have a feeling a competitive is ruining my feedbacks and DSR.
Some idiots buyer claimed that the item was description since they didn't know how to operate it. Still got a defect
This can take me to 2%
My defects are to come off in June and July.
What my goal is to stay on 2% until my defects are off the account in June and July.

Started to understand these better.
Although it is very stressing. Constant worry about it.

The goal is to sell much has you can.
This weekend, would be listing atleast 500 items.
I don't have selling limits on this account.

Since I can call eBay and don't have to worry about the details.
Today I got a very nice women from Ireland which usually I get my calls handled

Told me some tips, which made me realise it can work.

These might useful to some of you's

Try to extend delivery date from 2 weeks the date of the sale but post the item next day. The buyer can't open a case and you won't get a defect over something a simple question
This would get you good feedbacks and DSR. Feedbacks would have information about buyer stating getting the item fast. This would assure other buyers.

Never knew this. Try not to write a descriptions in red font.
Apparently these put people off.

Put in many specefic. When a buyer marks you down for item not described, you can get those defects off.

Put in a note in the package. This would assure the buyer's that you are willing to help and do anything to make sure the buyer has no problems
The one that are nasty and vicious would try to destroy you dsr. But since you have majority of successful sales, you won't be impacted with negative feedbacks.

Also call in and talk about these defects. If you have any doubts just talk it through and you might just know that someone would help you and remove those feedbacks.

To remove negatives feedback can improve your DSR and defects.

Most of these I know already. But just wanted to share with those who this information can be some help.

Man, that is a lot of info. Step 1 is to find out how many of your low ratings will fall off in the next rating period.

I think then you just have to do some math homework.

What are your sales for the period?

Lets say 31 defects for 1000 sales (=3.1%)

So you have 31 defects, now how many sales do you have to have so that 31 defects = 2%.
You would need 1550 total sales and no more defects. But....in the next period you will surely have some defects drop off. So if you do good and have no new defects and 11 defects drop off the report then you are at 2% if your sales remain 1000.

Somebodymentioned selling little cheap trinkets to run up your sales count. Problem is that dumb people tend to buy cheap crap more than smart people. So you are going to get whiners that ding you for 4 day delivery or becasue that 99 cent thing was not the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I sell expensive stuff that only people that have money to burn would buy. Except an occasional fool that throws money away he can't afford. Kinda a luxury item. I very rarely get an unreasonable customer. I try to do good and have hardly any defects in all my accounts combined except for a few which are probably accurate.

And roll shipping cost into the price and give free shipping. This way they cant ding you for shipping cost. Plus, you save on teh transaction fee for shipping because paypal doubletaps you for the 35 cent transaction fee for both the sale and the shipping.

......and sell stuff that can't be defective. electronic junk form China is death on DSRs because so much of it is DOA. Even a $4 PAIR of HDMI cables can draw a neg when they are $30 for them at WalMart.

Wow, what a load they gave you!

You are in a different country, but here they only remove defects... who am I kidding - might as well call it never.

Feedback slightly more often, but still only if it violates en EB rule, not if it is inaccurate or an outright lie. Only time I've ever gotten Feedback removed was when they used the "F" word twice, and it took two tries.

They can open cases based on when EB projects the package should arrive, which I think you will find pays little attention to your handling settings.

"deliver by" dates are notoriously crazy. One of my buyers recently was promised their package would arrive on a Sunday. They opened a case because it didn't arrive on Sunday. This was three days after purchase, and I advertise 2 day handling, not counting weekends. Got a defect for it, btw.

Notes in the package DO help.

I'm sure others will go on after I stop.

I run multiple accounts to spread the risk. I suggest you consider the same.

Good luck.
