Buyer did not accept the cancellation. Help

Hello. I sold an item on eBay. Received the payment. I found out that I ran out of stock. Therefore, I refunded the payment to my Buyer and sent cancellation request but Buyer did declined cancellation. It means I lost the Final Value Fee. What is next?

The buyer ABC has rejected your request to cancel the transaction for item X As a result, you will not receive a Final Value Fee credit for this transaction. Please complete this transaction with the buyer.

A few questions....

1) I assume this is a stealth account? Age of account? Any positive fb on account?

2) Did you initiate any email communication(s) with the buyer pleading your no stock case(being VERY sorry :), or with a 'manufactured' story...before just refunding they payment?

It's been my somewhat experienced-experience, in a situation such as this, the bottom line is, and no disrespect intended, it was YOUR fault for not having the item ready to ship that you had posted and your buyer bought in good faith.

You have to see it from the buyers point of view imho. If the account is solid and worth saving. a little professional, temporary 'sucking up', coupled with a creative back story (if necessary) goes a long way at appeasing a buyer...especially if it's an account that is otherwise good or progressing in that direction. The last thing you want is a dispute escalating and red flags flown.

Good luck

Case is closed - without manual help of eB (and that's risky), you will not get FVF back

You have probably gotten yourself a defect to.. and risk a negative rating.

Because if you chatted nicely to the buyer they will have more than likely have accepted the cancellation.
