What kind (brand) of watches? Are they phake? (I don't care, but eBay does). What is "a good amount of money"? Where do you buy them? | Mostly skagen, fossil, timex, some Seiko and Michael Kors.
Non of them are ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Perfect feedback. All satisfied customers.
My dad is a watch maker, and has connections with watches. No receipts to speak of tho. These are just excesses from stores.
Maybe it's not " a good amount of money" to ebay. Who knows. But right now I'm averaging lets say , 15 watches at $100 each. |

Can you provide details (not to me, to eBay) on how you get your inventory? i.e. exactly what "connections" your father has, and how he get's them? Right now, it sounds like the watches "fell off a truck" (not judging, just saying) and it sounds VERY fishy to me. *I* don't care, what you do or sell is NONE of my business, I'm just telling you how it comes across with limited info.
Based on what you've said thus far, *I* wouldn't call. You haven't been very forthcoming with info, and that leads me to believe you aren't confident in your merchandise. Maybe you are, it's hard to tell via written text, but the bottom line is this:
If you aren't selling VERO/high risk, eBay reps decide whether to increase your limits or not based on your sales history, feedback, and the impression they get from talking to you. IF you are 100% confident in yourself and your inventory, you should have no problems. But I get the impression you aren't, which makes it likely you WILL have problems. |

Most people on this forum ( other than newbies) typically won't post as much info as I've posted, and that's where my lack of being forth coming comes from.
Only issue I have, is that it's hard to explain how I got my inventory. That's the hard part for me. I obviously didn't buy it from a known distributor, so I'm not really sure how else to word it while speaking with ebay.
It's not stolen, and it's not phake. But there is no paper trail.
Issue I ran into 10 years ago when I was selling $2000 Tag Heuers and Omegas. Perfect feedback. Some seller complained ( I"m assuming) that my stuff might not be real. They suspended me. Said " we aren't sure if you are sure if your products are authentic". Never accused me outright.
They were grey market watches. Manufactures sell them for much cheaper, because they don't have to provide warranties. |

I don't care how you get your product. None of my business. BUT, you're asking me for my advice, and I can't give it to you without these details.
Bottom line: You don't know how to explain to eBay how/where you get your product. It sounds fishy to ME, and I'm not an eBay rep. *I* would not call and risk the account in your particular situation.
What I WOULD do is this:
Create a new eBay account, using Google Voice to verify the phone #.
As soon as you try to list your first item, you'll get hit with 0/0 limits.
Call eBay and act confused. Pretend to be new.
Get an increase to 25-50 items per month, day 1.
Next month, call again and test your story on the rep. If you lose the account, no biggie. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 03:36 PM. | |
