PayPal 21 day hold on more than 1k
 

Tried to death about this but only found info about the eBay 21 day hold on funds for sales on fresh accounts.

Okay so I made a new pp. used T-Mobile prepaid and vcc and everything. I haven't even made the eBay yet. So as soon as I made the PayPal I see an alert. It says something about how anything over 1k in sales gets held for 21 days. This is a business account. I haven't verified it yet cause I'm waiting on deposits. I never seen this before ever.. Is there a way I can put tracking to drop the hold? I use this PayPal for eBay and I always post tracking same day or next day. This is a strange new limitation. Should I just get rid of it?

a few recent thread about this. Most people like the idea if no holds at first.

Is there anyway around this or do I have to keep asking for raises every 30 days? Will tracking help since I'm selling on eBay?

Tracking always helps get funds faster. Three days after receipt is standard release of funds. You can call and get it released faster sometimes.

It is similar to Amazon. As the sales increase they protect themselves by holding funds. Seems like a new procedure they are trying. Kinda like the "you got money" holds they do on high velocity accounts after the 90 ebay hold comes off.

You know what this alert is though? It says I can only withdrawal 1000 a month and the rest is held for 21 days. Not the standard eBay thing

I forgot that part.
Some people have limits lower and higher. The search function is not working correctly so I can not find the other threads.
I think breakthecycle had a good thread on this.

I have not seen this. I create accounts every day! But maybe I am missing something?

Can you get the exact text of what he message says, but NOT revealing any personal info?

I DO know that many merchant account processors want a rolling reserve if your monthly sales go over $5,000 and you do not have excellent credit. When you thik about it, it DOES make sense for PayPal to protect themselves when it comes to larger amounts of money. The way it is now, someone gets a new account and PayPal puts a 21 day hold on their $50 sale. But someone else who has had a few sales is able to defraud them for thousands of dollars. Makes no sense to me.

Jeff, there is a few threads about this recently. The dollar amounts rage from $500.00 to a few grand. One week about a month ago it seemed everybody had these.

For me, I would dislike it. I dont like how amazon has my money for 14 days.

i never seen this limit thing before on any of my business accounts and i only make business accounts. weirddd.... guess i can jsut sel the limited 1k ones... anyone want a business account verified? lol
