Buyer who you know will be bad news...

What do you do with this type?

Bought and paid and making demands a few hours later.

Check his eBay and only negatives left for others.

You get the feeling this buyer will be trouble, but apparently you have to sell him YOUR item as per eBay rules even though I would have liked to refund him there and then.

Couple of days later a bombardment of emails and accusations and return requests.

So angry right now.

What was the buyer demanding a few hours later? And did you report this person to ebay?

If he puts a neg - ask EB to remove it, as if a buyer leaves only negs - it is a rare case when EB would be pleased to ban a buyer.

He was demanding to know when he'll get his item as he 'paid good money' for it.

Sending multiple messages within a few minutes.

I know this, Ive been on ebay 11 years.

Its just disappointed these scum of the world keep showing up everytime.

eBay will not protect me and thats the thing Im upset about.

Its nearly the end of the month and I need higher limits. eBay have told me perform well and we'll increase it after this month. This person is going to ruin all my hard work.

How? Ive done it through ebay system once before for an OBVIOUS competitor who bought an item I was selling that he also sells. He suddenly left me a neg with no communicaiton. eBay did nothing.

This current buyer is selling a couple of items, Im going to buy one and hold on with the feedback and see what he does.

Report him. Doesn't sound like he's stealth. If he was, he would know to pad his feedback with legitimate purchases and positive feedback. If it's an "obvious" competitor, eBay will ban them and remove the feedback.

The competitor was in the past and ebay did nothing to him. This buyer is a new one. Btw 'the competitor' is now trading the same items on two different accounts, his time will come to be destroyed. Just haven't got round to it. Normally I wouldn't care but when you play like that with others' livelihood you get burned.

Is it best to call ebay about a buyer situation as Ive never had luck through their system.

I can state-

-The demands he made in the emails.
-Claiming a faulty part but when I said Ill send a new part and return the other he claimed the whole item was faulty.
-The fact that his only left for others feedback is 3 negatives
-Member since May 2015
- I guarantee the item will be working just fine.

I have never gotten ANYTHING done via email with eBay. That's just been my experience. I call when I need anything done.

If someone else has a different experience, feel free to share your strategy. Remember, sometimes it takes more than one phone call.

Excellent advice. I forgot to mention that.

It keeps getting worse.

Told buyer I'd sort the return postage and he said he won't open a case. He did anyway.

I have to pay the return postage too...how does ebay calculate that.

Also no reply when I told him to upload photos as he has damaged it through use. But Im still obliged to fully refund him. Wow. I'll be recording the opening of the box from the moment I open it, it will be working.

New developments....

Buyer has sent me photos after I requested it a thousand times.

He has damaged it pretty significantly can I use that to say the buyer has damaged the item and therefore not entitled to a refund or is it not worth it due to feedback and ebay being ebay.

He's GOING to leave you negative feedback no matter what, most likely.

I think at this point I would be grateful that I still have my account and just take it on the chin and move on because it seems you are the one being troubled. I had someone using different accounts buy my item 4 times, not pay and leave negative fb and throw me into low dsr rating which put my pp funds on hold now for 21 days and a category limitation of which I had none I was aware of. Basically he ruined a year old stealth acct. Just be grateful!

Here is the good news! If he has an outstanding track record of leaving negatives then eBay will most likely side with you if you call in. If they say theres "nothing they can do" then DONT GIVE UP! Thank them, hang up and try again. ive called in e times to get a negative removed and all said they couldnt help me...Then the next rep put me on hold for 2 mins then came back to "feedback will be removed in 24 hours"

Re: Buyer who you know will be bad news...

soon as he bought and then started making demands you should have made up an excuse(like the item is defective) then refunded him and cancelled transaction and added him to block list.:juggle:

In ebay US, you can cancel a transaction because the buyer made unreasonable request. I would call ebay and talk it over with a rep.

Re: Buyer who you know will be bad news...

yeah its nasty obviously too late for you as he'd already bought it. But if I have someone asking loads of questions I just block them. Even if someone asks if somethings genuine when it is I often still block. Can just tell they're going to be hassle and I sell at fairly low profit margins so have no time for that.
