Old customers & refunds

Have a guy who bought an item from me last year. Now he is not satisfied with the item (it broke due low quality), and wants a replacement. 180 days have passed a long time ago. Should I help him?

Item is around 60 gbp. He claims that he bought another one when this one broke, and now wants a refund to compensate his losses.

No. I would add to the blocked list.

I just wonder if anyone knows, what happens to the magic "Buyer is always right" EB rule in such situation?

180 days days is long gone.
tiny chance of chargeback on paypal but extremely unlikely unless payment was made with AMEX

Why would AMEX change anything?

aggressive credit card company sometimes bends rules for chargebacks. Pretty much all the rest hold tight to 180 days.

Well... wanted to see how a buyer loses a case at EB - quite a rare issue! But he just disappeared.

A buyer could never win a case if opened on eBay when its that long of a time after the delivery. I don't see how they could...

Only option IF it even works is a chargeback but like everyone else said thats highly unlikely.

Thanks. But I've read somewhere on the forum, that buyer actually CAN get a money-back even after 180 days, if he screams enough at different reps.

That would be a lot of work for a cheap item and I am sure ebay would take the loss unless it is a foofoo claim.

Paypal is 180 days. I'm not sure who said that but I'd say they're wrong.

I just don't see how that can be done, but to each is own.

I would block his ID an tell him to go f*** himself (actually I wouldn't respond). I would report the user to eBay. You can't get negative feedback at 180 days, its a stretch that they can do a chargeback. I would wouldn't even respond to the message, the person is probably high or drunk hoping for something for free.

I would message him/her, not really, that good he/she bought another one after he/she broke it.

To OP, i wouldnt refund anything, esp. after such a long time.
