Default What counts as brand name items?

So ive read about avoiding name brand electronics, perfume , sunglasses etc.But is there a list of brands to avoid on a new account. Most people say you can begin listing pretty quick as long as the items are not name brand. So what counts?

Ferrari is the world's most powerful brand according to Brand Finance.[1]

A brand is a name, term, design, symbol or other feature that distinguishes one seller's product from those of others.[2] Brands are used in business, marketing, and advertising. Initially, livestock branding was adopted to differentiate one person's cattle from another's by means of a distinctive symbol burned into the animal's skin with a hot branding iron. A modern example of a brand is Pepsi which belongs to PepsiCo Inc,Gillete from P & G,etc.

In accounting, a brand defined as an intangible asset is often the most valuable asset on a corporation's balance sheet. Brand owners manage their brands carefully to create shareholder value, and brand valuation is an important management technique that ascribes a money value to a brand, and allows marketing investment to be managed (e.g.: prioritized across a portfolio of brands) to maximize shareholder value. Although only acquired brands appear on a company's balance sheet, the notion of putting a value on a brand forces marketing leaders to be focused on long term stewardship of the brand and managing for value.

The word "brand" is often used as a metonym referring to the company that is strongly identified with a brand.

Marque or make are often used to denote a brand of motor vehicle, which may be distinguished from a car model. A concept brand is a brand that is associated with an abstract concept, like breast cancer awareness or environmentalism, rather than a specific product, service, or business. A commodity brand is a brand associated with a commodity.

A logo often represents a specific brand, as do many trade names.

Here's what confuses me I know to avoid brand name electronics, perfume glasses etc. But let's say I want to sell fans. I've never heard of the name Honeywell but from what i hear they are one of the most popular brand names. Should I find another item (I don't want to w8 30 days to list brand names) or is it ok?

Honey well is a HUGE brand.
Bigger the brand, the more risk.
Also honeywell has a reputation of test buying.

So how do i find out how HUGE the brand is? I guess I could look up their company financial information to see how well they're doing, but i feel like most people dont do that lol. So how do I choose items (note: not asking for you to give me an item )

Checkout the bestselling items lists on eBay and Amazon, you will get to see what are the most popular items listed on the sites, what they sell for and everything you could possibly want to know about them. Plus you will get some suggestions about what you could sell on the sites.

Making an assumption everything you are selling is authentic. You want to build any account by selling household items, used jeans, tools, textbooks, etc to get feedback and some reputation eBay. Then you can slowly venture into selling branded goods.

If you sell branded goods as a newer seller make sure to take actual pictures of the item and not just steal some stock photo from a website. Write up a good description and spend lots of time describing it 100% accurately and do everything possible to present yourself as a legit and trustworthy seller. Sell slowly and wait for positive feedback and slowly work you way into it.

Lastly, To be honest it could be months before you can list items comfortably at quantities you are probably thinking. As they say Rome Wasn't Built in a Day and Neither are eBay Accounts.
