Instead of calling ebay this is what you can do
 

I've seen a lot of a posts about calling ebay to raise limits. This is an alternative instead of calling.

Go to ebay help and contact and open a live chat with an ebay customer support. If you're ready to raise your limits and you've been selling a good amount of items getting positive feedback etc.. Then ask him/her "I'd like to increase my selling limits " they'll then tell you something about asking you a couple questions. This is for people who are uneasy and not confident on the phone, and after answering all the questions he should check with his supervisor or something. Amd BAM double limits. The questions are fairly easy e.g What do you hope for your business in the future? Just reply something like you want to open a physical shop or a website etc. Ezpz.

Live chat = the good old days of not having to call in. I'm sure they switched to verify peoples voices.

Having calls recorded incase of issues if the voice male/female doesn't match the name on the account or things like that. Think! No need to list all the reasons here.

There is no live chat for USA eBay members. (Which, last I checked, US was a bigger market than all of Europe combined....)

Stop the drugs...you're becoming WAY to paranoid.

You think eBay employs someone to recognize your voice patterns? Do you know the cost of software that does that? And its not very accurate....eBay is an online marketplace, NOT law enforcement. Some of you people have really over-active imaginations...

Male/female name verses voice is irrelevant.

Do you really think ebay records all calls and saves them?

USA definitely has a live-chat feature, unless it recently disappeared.

Click the "sell" tab at the top, then you should have a live-chat on the top right that asks if you need help. If you click on contact us, you should also see a live chat button.

There is no live chat for selling account/limit changes.

I'm not sure if they can increase limits via chat, but if you have an account that does not have limits showing, they can sometimes confirm what the limits are on your account, without having to call in.

Makes it easy sometimes -- if the rep chatting is somewhat savvy

Well when I call ebay sometimes i hear ebay may record calls and things like that. So yeah ebay does record calls sometimes so don't say they don't and if your ebay account name is jennifer and you call in and have a male voice then goodluck trying to get by, but if it was ebay chat then you woudn't have this issue since there is no voice. That's what I'm saying!

Every customer service phone line on the planet records your calls. It's so the supervisor can monitor the representative. If you have someone cursing at your customers, you're going to want to know it. This is a common business practice.

Quit with the drugs....

And BTW, you're wrong about the name. Yankee has a females name, and he has said he has no issues.

Especially in 2015....when men are wanting to identify as women and vice-versa all the time....calling you out because your voice doesn't match a name is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Im a male and call in all the time on female accounts, it has never ever been a problem.

Just to clarify. The USA DOES INDEED have a live chat feature but its ONLY for new seller accounts on the BASIC selling page and NOT the advanced selling page.

Yeah it's true. I always get the chat option when making first listing. After that it goes away

Live chat is only available for a VERY short time when you first start selling on ebay in the USA. It is only a week I believe.

So it goes back to my original statement: Live chat for US members does not exist.

A one week window for "new members" is about as useless as it not being there at all.

The live chat option is available on the Hong Kong website. But this method does not work since the customer service reps outsourced to China are just like robots. Whatever you ask them, their answer is either send an email to one of our department or call our hotline.

Just a tip for the UK people with the live chat option.. You will probably notice under quite a few different categories on the contact page you won't be given the option for live chat, it will only be a phone call or email but I noticed if you find a category that you are able to live chat with then you just tell the live chat representative that you are in the wrong category and need help with say selling limits and then they always pass you on to the correct chat category through live chat even if that category doesn't have the live chat option. I've done it many times and it works for everything. I think I just click on the 'Selling' tab and then 'how to sell an item' (something like that) and then just ask them to forward me to the correct person and they always do it. I've raised my selling limits many times this way and it only takes a few minutes.

We don't have option of live chat. Instead I just sell nicely and hope it will raise. I don't want ebay to focus on my account because I'm too harshed to lift my limits.lol. Just create another account to have higher selling limit.

eBay doesn't "Focus on your account" just because you request a limit increase. This is a myth. The ONLY trouble you'd have requesting a limit increase is if you're selling VERO or phakes.

LMAO. They check our voices...... That is straight out NSA paranoia. If Ebay seriously needs to use such a vocal algerythem, they have some serious action going on.

There's no EBay chat for the U.S., the only chat is for listing 1st item in basic mode.
