eBay Return Process Question
 
A buyer wants the return an item, reason given "defective". The item is not defective, just needs a minor tweaking. I did send the buyer a message explaining what to do and also offered him to return the item is he still doesn't want it.

Until now he never reply back, I did send him a few messages to follow up. The return request is still open, is there a way to close it like on Amazon?

You stated the buyer can return it if they didn't want it. Why not just have them return it and refund them.

Not much you can do at this point except wait it out.
If he returns it then he will have to follow up with ebay by loading up tracking. If he doesnt do it within the allotted time the case will be closed automatically.

Thanks for the answers, I will sit and wait for a while now. Usually how long will it take until the case is closed if he doesn't reply me?

You can only wait now - case can be closed in anywhere from 14 days to 1 month....tough to predict

I recently had a buyer open a return request stating "they no longer wanted it". After the request I never heard from them again. In the return request details it will say the exact date the case will be closed if the buyer continues to be unresponsive.
