Weird EB case resolution
 

Got some retarded customer, who read the first half of title, ordered item, and opened NAD case, while ignoring all my attempts to explain why I am not willing to accept the return. I was 100% sure I will win this case, so left it there for an escalation. Escalation happened, and it seems that no reps even tried to dig into the case, EB just sided with the buyer, and refunded him. Ok, I thought, I was just ridiculous, called in, talked to some guy who had less knowledge about EB than I do, talked for about an hour, and managed to explain him that I am right, not the customer. Another case opened, and instantly closed in my favor. And PARTIAL refund was charged from the buyer to my account. What was that?

its a known fact you never win cases if you are seller, even if you are 100% right you are wrong,

The issue is that they said that I've lost, then that I've won, but refunded partially (-10%). What's that?

Why not ask eBay?

Could be compensation

I know in the past PayPal have offered me things like that, not ever had it from eBay though

I wouldn't dig much futher, ebay have a way of dealing people who don't agree with them. They just hit the ban button. In their eyes problem solved.

maybe eby just reimbursed you on their side... no way they charged the customer to pay you...
