This is more like pre selling because you are not drop shipping to your buyer.
I do this on many items from distributors that are one day away from me. Never thought of it as drop shipping.

Question: If the items are popular, why not source them wholesale and buy small stock? Or are you just looking to test new markets and items?

The thing is the items I'm selling now are going for $99.99 and I'm selling them for about $174.99-$199.99.

So I have about 6 listings but with variations its totals about 40 items. I don't have 4 grand to buy all these items to have them sit in my inventory and sell when they do. I make good money but flipping prices $50 gets hard to do with a bunch of stuff even if I know I'll make a profit.

I think you know what I mean.....

The more money I'm making them better stuff I'm able to reinvest in. I'm getting there.

I just applied for the amazon card to get the 5% back and got denied. :pout:

the amazon prime store card (which is 5%) or the amazon visa which is 3%?

One might be easier to get than the other but both give a percentage back.

Also I almost forgot, I request gift receipts for my drop ship items if it's an option. Then no price on the receipt!

Anyone can be a dropshiper, dropshiping is basically selling something that you don't have but someone else does and then shipping it to there place instead of yours..

I think most people who sell books are, but if not most a lot are. That's a easy one....

Basically most sellers who ONLY have generic stock photos you see on OTHER websites that's a dead giveaway. Obviously it doesn't mean they drop ship but the chances they are is VERY high. Most people who get product themselves take their own pictures because it can increase the sale.

It really depends on the category your selling in...

I just search random items and look for any for random prices like £8.44 as they use repricing software to keep their profit at a certain % then check their other items and compare with amazon prices. Put their ID in terraspeak and take their top selling items, make the title longer as they just copy and paste from amazon so I get more of the ebay search traffic
