Won an eBay Chargeback Case Woo Whooo!!
 

So I had a buyer open a case against me 2 weeks after having receiving on a $600 item they purchased from me. They did a chargeback and claimed the charge was unauthorized. I don't know, maybe it was...maybe potential buyer fraud?

I was suspicious b/c the buyer couldn't take the time to even let me know what was going on. After numerous emails and messages, no response whatsoever. So I made sure I let eBay and Paypal know that I can have been trying to contact this person. I also added tracking showing item was delivered.

Anyway, I won the case and got my $ released under eBay Seller protection policy.

Feeling really good about it as I would had to lose a $600 item. I had to share!! :)

Good to hear!

Pretty much unless it is a proven case of fraud, you win these.

Amex cards are the exception. You almost never win an Amex but everything else Paypal does a really good job with.

Great job!

I just got one the start of this month (ironically). Same thing, unauthorized payment. Only thing is it was 2 months ago they bought the item and it was internationally sold (UK). Buyer NEVER contacted me and had around 8 feedback so I'm 99% sure it's fraud. Delivered to the VERIFIED address on file.

How long did it take paypal to let you know you one?

We should NEVER be held responsible if we ship to the address PAYPAL verifies.

Wait under eBay seller protection?

If the charge back obviously hit your paypal account so how did eBay have any say in the matter??????

Chargebacks have nothing to do with paypal polices or sellers protection. But paypal does fight like hell to win them. Keeps the wolves at bay.

You ever get one for an international sale?

I would already figure I'd win mine because I shipped and provided proof I shipped to the address paypal verified but its international (uk).

I have and I almost always win. BUT if it is American Express, you loose most of the time. I mean virtually always but sometimes you get the item back.

If it IS unauthorized you loose 100% of the time.

no, they don't fight most of the time. keeps the wolves at bay? more like keeps the wolves off ebay lol. if you file chargeback and paypal (not seller) has to pay...your account will be blocked.


I've won A/X disputes for item not as described.
