Re: which question ebay ask if i call to increase limits

Just called in on my 240/5,000 limit account and got an increase to 350/10,000

I'm pretty pumped about it

I was only asked my full name and where I got my items. The key thing here is to say you get your items locally, have had them for years and/or apart of a large collection, etc. so you aren't requested to send in supplier's invoices.

I was on the phone for 7 minutes total

It depends on a few factors:

1. What KIND of VERO are they? Are we talking Rolexes, or P90X, or iPods, or....?

There are TONS of "VERO". Are the items legitimate? How many phakes exist, or approximately what percentage of items listed/sold are legitimate (market total, not your own). Basically, what is eBays "risk" in trusting you?

2. How long has the account been selling? How many total transactions? How much total feedback? The older and more established (sales, positive feedback, etc) the better your odds.

3. Your confidence. If you call and are stuttering, "forgetting" where your items come from, or your address, or phone #, etc, you will NOT get an increase.....you may get another request you don't want. You have to sound completely calm and casual.

There are ways around these issues too. For example, if you are trying to get an increase on a brand new account, just max out the current limits with bogus listings. List random stuff, like some old DVD's from your collection or an old textbook from college. Call in with these listings and tell them you're trying to declutter your house. "Spring cleaning" is an even BETTER way of phrasing it (as long as it's actually the correct season) After the limits are raised, delete the filler listings and post your real items. Note that you should only do this ONCE, they DO check your sold items history, so don't get caught in a lie!
